I’m beyond excited to put you on to this one, Nomsters. Y’ollk Bakery just opened in Severna Park, and everything I got was ridiculously good! It’s a brand-new, from-scratch bakery that blends French pastry technique with Filipino and Turkish influences, which is a combo I did not know I needed until I was standing at the counter trying to decide.
They do pastries, breads, cakes, coffee, and more, and my runaway favorite was actually the savory one, a breakfast sandwich on a house biscuit that might be the best brekkie sandwich I’ve had in a minute. The ube roll and that Turkish-hazelnut donut were right behind it.
If you’re anywhere near Severna Park and you love a good bakery, this new gem needs to be your next stop. Quick heads-up for transparency: their team recognized me and kindly voided my charges, so this visit was comped, but as always, every opinion here is my own.

What Makes Y’ollk Bakery So Special
What makes Y’ollk feel special is the mashup at the heart of it. It’s run by Marie Cris Garay and Basaran “Bas” Mulgan, who met working at a catering company and built the whole concept together, she brings a Filipino background and he brings a Turkish one, and they filter both through classic French pastry technique.
So you get French precision with flavors you won’t find at your average bakery, like ube and a Turkish hazelnut spread. Everything’s scratch-made and baked fresh daily, and the lineup runs from pastries and breads to cakes, cinnamon rolls, macarons, quiche, and a full espresso bar. For a spot that just opened, it already feels dialed in, and that’s exactly why it stands out in the Severna Park Market Center.

What to Order at Y’ollk Bakery
Here’s everything I got into, and trust me, it was hard to stop.
Breakfast Sandwich ($10)
This was the sleeper hit of the whole order. I got the egg sandwich with bacon and cheese on their house biscuit, and OMG, it’s one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had in a minute. You can get it on brioche if you prefer, but I’m telling you, go for the biscuit, it’s that good. It’s so good I kind of want to go back JUST for this one. If you only grab a single savory thing here, make it this.
Ube Roll ($8)
How could I not?! The ube roll is so soft and beautiful to look at, and they load you up on that ube goodness, no skimping. If they’ve got it in the case and it’s not sold out yet, definitely grab one.

Tombul Brioche Donut ($4.50)
Another winner. This brioche donut is made with Tombul, a magical hazelnut-and-cocoa spread built on Turkish hazelnuts, and it’s basically a glow-up on the Nutella experience. If you’re a Nutella person, you’re going to LOVE this one.
Chocolate Fudge Cake Slice ($6)
A fantastic slice for the chocolate lovers. The fudge on top actually reminded me of the Filipino chocolate dream cake I’m obsessed with, lol, so it hit a real nostalgic note for me. If you’re splitting a few things, this is a great sweet way to close it out.
A few more things I’ve got my eye on for next time:
- The espresso bar and their coffee drinks, which I had to skip this round because I was way overcaffeinated before I even got there.
- Macarons, cinnamon rolls, and more of the brioche donuts.
- Quiche, if you want something savory to sit in with.
- Custom cakes, which they take orders for.
So What’s Ube Exactly?
If you keep seeing ube everywhere and you’re not totally sure what it is, here’s the quick version. Ube is a purple yam popular in Filipino desserts, and it’s loved for its naturally gorgeous violet color plus a flavor that’s gently sweet and a little nutty, almost like vanilla with a twist. It’s not the same as taro, even though they look similar. At a Filipino-rooted bakery like Yollk, it’s a perfect thing to try, and that ube roll is an easy, delicious way in if you’ve never had it before.
The Vibe and Experience
The place has that fresh, just-opened energy, tucked into the Severna Park Market Center and clearly made with a lot of care. The team was so warm and welcoming, which made the stop even better. It’s a great fit for a weekend pastry run, a coffee-and-a-treat morning, or grabbing a box of goodies to bring somewhere. Since they’re new, the hours were still a temporary, opening-phase schedule when I went, so it’s worth a quick check before you drive over. Another sweet Severna Park stop I love is the Donut Shack if you want to make a whole morning of it.

Is Y’ollk Bakery Worth A Visit?
They get a big yes from me. For a brand-new bakery, Y’ollk is already putting out sweets that feel distinct, and that biscuit breakfast sandwich alone would get me back. The French-Filipino-Turkish angle makes it genuinely different, and I can’t wait to go back and work through the rest of the menu. If you’re near Severna Park, this one’s absolutely worth the stop.
Have you guys been to Yollk yet?! Let me know what you’d grab first in the comments, Nomsters, and if you try that ube roll, come back and tell me how pretty it was, haha. Save this one and send it to your Severna Park crew!
