Sweet Bamboo Boba in Severna Park
It’s been a minute since I last featured Sweet Bamboo Boba, but I had to shout them out again! Honestly, I’d go as far as to say this is my favorite boba spot in Maryland. Between their friendly team, fun DIY concept, and seriously delicious drinks, it’s always worth the trip.
If you’re building a full Severna Park food day, pair the boba run with dinner from Thai Paradise, a Thai carryout spot nearby with drunken noodles and green curry that are seriously good.
If you want to pair a boba run with something hands-on, Bubbles Bzzz in Lexington Park combines bubble tea and paint-your-own pottery in one stop down in St. Mary’s County.
What You’ll Find at Sweet Bamboo Boba

What makes Sweet Bamboo so special is the way they’ve flipped the boba experience. Instead of charging you for every little topping, they keep it simple:
- DIY cup system – Mix and match flavors however you like for one flat fee.
- Unlimited toppings – Everything from jellies to popping boba is included.
- Premade menu options – Perfect if you don’t feel like making your own.
- Desserts – Beyond drinks, they also sell plenty of sweet treats like donuts, macarons and more.
It’s boba made fun and flexible, and you never feel like you’re missing out.
My Favorite Drink
If you know me, you know I love black sesame boba, and Sweet Bamboo nails it. The catch? It’s not pre-made. You’ll have to ask the team to whip it up fresh in the back. But trust me, it’s worth it. The nutty, slightly sweet flavor is next-level and easily my go-to. I usually just add boba but I think it’d be great with flavored jellies as well.

Why It’s Worth a Stop
Sweet Bamboo isn’t just about good drinks. The atmosphere is always positive, the staff is kind, and they make the experience feel personal. FYI, they offer 20% off drinks for military and first responders.

And if you’re not near Severna Park – good news! They’re opening a new location in Silver Spring soon, so even more people will get to enjoy what they do best. It should be open within the next few months! I’ll make sure to keep you guys updated so make sure you follow me on Instagram to stay in the know.
