This Smashburger Spot Should Be On Your Must-Try List
If you’re on the hunt for your next favorite smashburger, allow me to put you on. Several people told me I had to check out Fifty Fifty, and after finally making the trip to Frederick, I can confidently say the hype is very real.
Eat Fifty Fifty is slinging some seriously creative smashburgers inside Olde Mother Brewing, and I ended up trying several items from their menu. Spoiler alert: everything hit.
What I Ordered at Eat Fifty Fifty
- Old Fashioned Smashburger ($12.26): This burger immediately stood out. It features half bacon and half beef smash patties topped with white American cheese, bourbon molasses sauce, pickles, and caramelized onions. The flavors are bold, rich, and incredibly well-balanced. If you love inventive burgers, this one is a must. They also offer plenty of build-your-own options if you want to customize.
- Sweet Potato Fries ($5.66): Perfectly crispy and tossed in cinnamon sugar, these fries are served with a side of blueberry ketchup—and yes, it works beautifully. Sweet, savory, and totally crave-worthy. Next time, I’ve got my eye on their Old Bay hand-cut fries.
- Pretzels with Beer Cheese ($11.32): These pretzels were SO good. Warm, buttery, and soft, they’re excellent on their own and even better dipped into beer cheese. I may or may not have eaten both while driving back to my parents’ house. Zero regrets.
- Stuffed Churros ($8.49): Cinnamon sugar–dusted churros stuffed with cream cheese and served with blueberry ketchup. They’re indulgent, fun, and exactly as delicious as they sound.
Fifty Fifty is located inside Olde Mother Brewing, making it a great stop whether you’re grabbing lunch or pairing burgers with a local brew. They focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, which really shows in the quality of the food. You can add toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, or candied jalapeño peppers to any burger at no extra charge.
They also offer a solid lunch combo from 12–4 PM, Tuesday through Friday, where you can score a single-patty burger with fries for just $10. Plant-based friends aren’t forgotten either; an Impossible Burger is available. And if you spot them elsewhere, that’s because they also operate a food truck.
Sidebar: I really, really like Frederick. The food scene is fantastic, the city is charming, and Fifty Fifty just gave me another reason to spend more time exploring the area. Expect more Frederick content from me moving forward, Nomsters!!! Have you tried Fifty Fifty yet? I want to know, what’s your favorite smashburger spot?
