NOMSTERS!!!! There’s a new sushi spot in town, and it’s a great one. Head to Uzu Revolving Sushi for one of the funnest dining experiences in MoCo. It was such a blast, and the quality was surprisingly good. The revolving belt’s always a good time, but they also had robot servers (in addition to human servers =P) and “bullet trains” that delivered dishes straight to your table. SO. CUTE.
Must tries include the conch nigiri, oysters (OMG I could’ve eaten so many, lol), the 24k magic roll, and the fatty tuna toro nigiri. You can pull them directly off the belt or place an order through your tablet! Plates are priced by the color, and they cost anywhere between $3.99 to $9.99.

If you’re not a fan of raw, Uzu Revolving Sushi has a bunch of cooked options available as well. As for drinks, I really enjoyed their tea, but they also have sake and beer! Sidebar: parking can be ROUGH, especially on weekends so make sure you get there early. It took me a good 20 minutes to find a spot – I ended up parking in one of their garages but I had to go to the verrrryyyyyy bottom, lol.
And if you want to go full interactive dining in Rockville, Yummy Bowl is doing AYCE Mongolian BBQ where you build your own stir fry bowl from scratch. If you want more Japanese dining in MoCo after this, Raku Bethesda is a short drive south and takes a totally different approach, traditional sushi, housemade noodles, and a bento deal that is one of the better values in the area right now.
Anywho, there’s a good amount of seating inside, and the ambiance was great. Lots of energy for sure, and they did an awesome job with the interior. I think they’re going to do VERY well, and I can definitely see them expanding quickly! Have you guys ever tried rotating sushi? Curious to hear your thoughts. Let me know by commenting below, Nomsters.
Andddd before I leave, I’d like to thank the Uzu team for generously hosting me! I already can’t wait to go back. OH and make sure you stop by Okaeri afterwards for dessert – I’m a HUGE fan of their Japanese pancakes, but they also offer dango, kakigori & tons more.
