It’s been a *delicious* month, and I can’t wait to tell you guys about 5 of my favorite bites. Sooo, without further ado, let’s kick things off with Capri’s Phili Steak & Cheese.
1. Capri’s Phili Steak and Cheese
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved this sandwich. I had half left over, and it tasted even better the next day (threw it in the oven for a few min, and it was perfection). I got mine with LTO, mayo, and hots. They make all their bread in house, and wow, the roll was just so fantastic. 11/10 recommend – easily one of the best cheesesteaks I’ve had in a minute. They also have a killer chicken caesar & yum NY style pizza.
2. Melina’s Lamb Neck ‘Kleftiko’
I went for date night with Deke, and we had such a nice evening. The food’s def on the pricier side, but it’s worth it IMO. Everything we got was great, but their lamb neck ‘Kleftiko’ was unREAL. It was $46, but portions were HUGE and it was plenty for us to share (we actually had quite a bit leftover). The meat was so, so tender – it all just fell apart. And it came with pita, veggies, picked onions, tzatziki and crispy potatoes. Absolutely phenomenal.
3. Motorkat’s Pork Belly Sandwich
Probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had in a minute. If you’re a fan of pork belly, you gotta try this sandwich. It takes them a long time to prep the meat, which makes sense because it’s so tender. This baby’s topped with tomato-chili crunch, black garlic aioli, and an over easy egg on sourdough. And yes, it’s as amazing as it sounds.
4. Thai Street’s Kao Ka Moo
My first time trying this dish, and I am so shook. Their braised pork shoulder was absolute magic, and like the pork belly mentioned above, it takes them basically an entire day to cook this. I also loved all of the accompanying goodies – the pickled mustard greens went so well with the meat. They also mentioned that no other Thai spot makes this in the area so even more reason to go!
5. Spelunker’s Double Cavern Burger
Just an exceptional burger, lol. They grind their burgers fresh and hand make their patties each morning, and Deke and I just really loved it. I added fresh jalapeños because I’m a spice fiend, and it was perfect with their creamy milkshakes. Spelunker’s is a must visit if you’re ever hear Front Royal, VA! It’s on the way to Shenandoah so if you guys ever make a trip, remember to make a stop!
And that’s a wrap for November, friends! I totally forgot to do one of these roundups for October, BUT if you want to see my September post, click here. I’d love to hear about *your* favorite eats from last month – comment below with your top 3.
