Looking for a top-tier taco spot to try? Look no further than Tijuana Tacos! I recently hit up this hidden gem and was not disappointed. In fact, I’d go so far as to say it’s in my top five for taco places in the DMV area! I know, I know. Bold words, but I stand by them.
SO, let’s talk food. Deke and I got three different tacos – it was $13.99 to get 3 different kinds and $12.99 to get the same protein. We went with carne asada, al pastor, and chorizo this time around. The tortillas were absolute perfection and perfectly complemented the juicy, savory meats. Plus, the salsas that came with were out of this world. Both the verde and roja packed a spicy punch that brought the whole meal to the next level. 11/10.
Next, we tried the Sope & Tostada ($4.50 each) topped with beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, and sour cream. Although these weren’t our favorite, they were still solid and went well with the salsas. They DEF needed the extra oomph though so make sure you load up.
Lastly, we ordered the Milanese de Pollo Torta ($11.99). The bread was nice and soft, but again, the tacos reigned supreme.
Some additional notes for you guys: if you dine in, they give you complimentary chips! They’re perfectly crispy and so crave-worthy. They also offer all kinds of proteins, including tripa, cabeza, and buche. AND don’t forget to try their unique selection of Mexican sodas during your visit – there are tons of flavors available so there’s something for everyone!
Pro-tip: Tijuana Tacos is conveniently located only 8 minutes away from Ann’s Dari-Creme, so why not grab some soft serve after your meal? Deke and I got chocolate dipped cones afterwards, and it was perfection!
If you’re still in the area and craving a proper sit-down meal at any hour, Honey Bee Diner on Ritchie Highway is a 24/7 classic American diner with hotcakes, stuffed French toast, and a big breakfast menu that never sleeps.
