The Ally Cat Walk: A Colorful Solomons Island Boutique

September 10, 2026

As you guys know, I recently spent some time down in Solomons and had an absolute blast. I did most of my eating (obviously, lol), but I took a little detour into The Ally Cat Walk, and I’m so glad I did. It’s a colorful, woman-owned boutique on Solomons Island, and walking in was pure joy, everything’s unique, fun and SO cute.

If you’re a browse-the-cute-stuff kind of shopper, this one’s a must. They carry women’s clothing, accessories and gifts, plus a little kids’ section, and if you can’t make it out to Calvert County, you can shop the whole thing online (they do free shipping on orders over $100). It’s a fun stop to work into a Solomons day trip, and I wanted to put you guys on before you plan yours.

What Makes The Ally Cat Walk a Must Visit Boutique

The thing that stuck with me is just how joyful the whole space feels. It’s bright, it’s colorful, and it’s clearly curated by someone who loves what she’s putting out.

The Ally Cat Walk’s a woman-owned small business that opened its Solomons storefront in 2025 (owner Ally’s a Southern Maryland native who left a corporate fashion-buying career to run it), and that personal touch shows. It’s tucked into the Patuxent Plaza shopping center, so it’s easy to find, and they stock recognizable brands like Judy Blue jeans alongside shoes, jewelry and gifts. For a small island shop, the selection’s got more range than you’d expect.

What to Shop For at The Ally Cat Walk

This isn’t a giant department store, it’s a tight, well-picked boutique, which honestly makes it more fun to browse. Here’s the kind of stuff you’ll find:

  • Women’s clothing, from dresses and tops to jumpsuits and outerwear (Judy Blue and Risen jeans are in the mix).
  • Accessories galore: jewelry, bags, hats, scarves, sunglasses and belts.
  • Shoes, including brands like Corky’s and MIA.
  • A kids’ and baby line called The Little AllyCats, plus mommy-and-me matching styles.
  • Gifts and gift cards, so it’s a handy stop if you need a little something for someone.

I mostly went in to look around, and it’s genuinely the kind of place where you could easily talk yourself into something, lol.

Can You Shop The Ally Cat Walk Online?

If Solomons is a bit of a haul for you, they’ve got a full online store and even a shopping app, and they ship from Southern Maryland. Orders over $100 ship free, and they offer buy-now-pay-later options like Shop Pay and Sezzle at checkout. You can also do local pickup if you’d rather grab your order in person. So even if you’re nowhere near Calvert County, you can still get in on the cute.

The Vibe and Experience

The vibe’s playful and welcoming, exactly what you want from a little island boutique. It’s the kind of spot that makes a rainy beach day better, and it’s great for a girls’ trip, a mom-daughter outing, or just a solo wander while everyone else is still eating crabs.

They also do live shopping events and pop-ups, and they’ve got an adorable mobile boutique (a renovated 1978 Airstream named Daisy) that travels to events, so keep an eye on their socials if you want to catch it. It all adds up to a small business that clearly puts a lot of heart into what they do.

Is The Ally Cat Walk Worth a Stop?

For me, yes, especially if you’re already making a day of it on Solomons Island. It’s a quick, feel-good browse that pairs perfectly with the rest of the area, so hit the shop, then go make a whole afternoon of it. I’d sandwich it between the Calvert Marine Museum and lunch on the water, and call it a perfect Southern Maryland day.
