I’m beyond excited to feature yet another fantastic Asian-owned business in Maryland! We’re actually pretty spoiled in Charm City because we have some really great Thai food in Baltimore. I’ll be spotlighting MANY other places, but today we’re going to discuss Thai Street (located inside Broadway Market in Fells Point). I’ve always been a huge fan of their food, and I have yet to try a dish I haven’t enjoyed yet.
If you’re looking for more Thai in the city, Thai-Lao Garden in Canton is worth adding to your list, serving both Thai classics and hard-to-find Lao dishes like nam khao and larb gai.
If you want to make a full day of it in the neighborhood, Pitango Bakery + Cafe is a short walk away and is a solid stop for coffee, cruffins, and in-house Italian pastries. —
Here are some of my personal favorites! For apps, I highly recommend their Moo Ping Nom Sod aka skewered and grilled sweet pork with sticky rice. You get two with your order, and the meat’s so tender and flavorful. I love that they pair it with sticky rice – it’s a pretty standard combo, but very tasting. Plus, I’m a sucker for sticky rice, lol. The texture’s out of this world!
Their curry puff is also a winner! In fact, this might actually be my favorite app here. Stuffed with potato, onion, carrot, yellow curry and served with an amazing dipping sauce, I promise it’ll be love at first bite. Think super comforting flavors.
As for mains, I like to get their Drunken Noodle with Beef – made with broad rice noodz, basil, tomato, string bean, onion and a protein of your choice – and Pad Gra Pao Chicken – made with basil, onion, chili, garlic, and red bell pepper.
They’re pretty heavy handed with their spice if you ask them to be, but I like to get extra chili pepper on the side as well. As you guys know, I love spice, and I especially love Thai chili peppers in fish sauce. It’s pungent though so you have to really like fish sauce, lol. I have yet to try their “death level” so I’ll have to give it a shot the next time I go.
Hope you guys check ’em out if you haven’t yet! Where’s your go to spot for Thai food in Baltimore? Let me know by leaving a comment below, Nomsters.
