Alright Nomsters, there’s a hidden gem that deserves alllll the buzz – Sushi Ya in Owings Mills! This fantastic spot has it all – from charming decor to amazing service to exceptional food, it’s a must-visit for sure.
I had the pleasure of treating my mom a weeks back, and she ended up LOVING her meal. Here’s what we got to share that day:
- Soft Shell Crab Bun ($12): 10/10. Think perfectly fried soft shell crab topped with an crave-worthy sauce, nestled in the softest bao bun. This dish was definitely a highlight so make sure you give this app a try when you go.
- Avocado Boat ($13): The presentation alone impressed us, lol. Isn’t it cute? This dish came with a generous portion of crab and spicy tuna atop a delightful blend of sushi rice, avocado, and seasonings, all served within a carefully crafted avocado shell.
- Crazy Eel Roll ($15.95): Spicy tuna topped with eel + eel sauce – my mom’s favorite dish there =)
- Crunchy Fire Roll ($13.95): This is my go-to roll at Sushi Ya! It’s made with tempura shrimp, avocado, and tobiko, then topped with spicy tuna, crunchy flakes, and a spicy sauce. So much yum.
A few additional notes for you all:
- Sushi Ya’s interior is so on point. The ambiance and vibes are immaculate, and it’d be *perfect* for date night or a nice dinner out with friends.
- For those craving variety, Sushi Ya offers a wide selection of sushi and sashimi combinations. Their sushi for 2 and sushi + sashimi platter for 2 are both reasonably priced at $65 and $68 respectively!
- I really liked that they loaded you up on fish and gave minimal rice! And their food was SO fresh.
- Sushi Ya offers an array of nom entrees and noodle dishes. I usually only get sushi though so I’m not sure what’s good! You guys will have to tell me, lol.
So, have you visited Sushi Ya yet? Would love to hear your thoughts below, Nomsters!
