Day 75 of eating at 100 Asian restaurants in Maryland, and this one’s a genre-bender I did not see coming: Indian pizza. Spice N Slice is a newish spot in Elkridge, and the owner, Max, also runs Spice n Curry right next door, so you already know the food’s gonna be good.
The concept’s exactly what it sounds like, all your favorite Indian flavors (butter chicken, chicken tikka, palak paneer) loaded onto a pizza, and it works way better than you’d think. If you like a little heat, the chicken vindaloo’s calling your name. Whether you’re an Indian-food person, a pizza person, or both, this is a fun one to add to the rotation, Nomsters. Huge thanks to the team for recognizing us and treating us to lunch. Here’s the rundown.

What Makes Spice N Slice a Must Visit Pizza Spot
What makes Spice N Slice stand out is that it’s not trying to be a regular pizza joint. This is full-on fusion, they take a NY-style crust and swap the usual marinara and pepperoni for Indian curries and tandoori proteins, so you get the flavors of a good Indian dinner in slice form.
Having Max’s Spice n Curry right there means the curry game’s legit, this isn’t a gimmick, it’s an Indian kitchen that happens to put it all on a pizza. Funny enough, Elkridge has quietly become a little Indian pizza hub, I’ve also reviewed Curry and Pie just up the road, so if you’re into this style you’ve got options. Spice N Slice earns its spot with a concept that goes way deeper than a standard pizza joint and a menu that backs it up.
What to Order at Spice N Slice
The Indian specialty pizzas are the whole reason to come, so let’s start there. A 12-inch runs $12.49, which is a great deal for how loaded they are.
Butter Chicken Pizza
If you order one pizza, make it this. It’s built on a creamy butter chicken sauce with marinated tandoori chicken, red onions, and cilantro, basically everyone’s favorite Indian dish in pizza form. It’s the one that tends to win everyone over, which is exactly why it tops the must-try list. A must-try, full stop.

Chicken Tikka Pizza
Another must-order. This one is built on spiced chicken tikka, so the flavor profile goes in a different direction than the butter chicken. If you want something with a bolder spice profile, go this direction. Both are solid starting points if you’re new to the whole Indian pizza thing.
Palak Paneer Pizza
For the vegetarians (and honestly everyone), the palak paneer pizza belongs on the must-try list, a spinach sauce topped with soft cubes of paneer cheese. It’s a smart pick if you want something a little lighter and green, and it proves this style isn’t just a meat-lovers game. Get it if you love the classic curry.
If You Like It Spicy: Chicken Vindaloo
Vindaloo’s the one to order if you chase heat. It’s a bold, tangy, seriously spicy curry, so consider this your warning and your invitation. Not for the timid, but very worth it if you love spice.
A few more things worth knowing when you order:
- The Harbour Pizza (chicken tikka, paneer, potatoes, and jalapenos) is next on my list, it sounds incredible.
- There’s an XX-large 18-inch size for about $19.99 if you’re feeding a crew.
- The menu goes way past pizza: samosas, wings, strombolis (butter chicken stromboli, anyone?), rice bowls, kathi rolls, plus Indian desserts, mango lassi, and bubble tea.
What Is Indian Pizza?
If Indian pizza’s new to you, here’s the gist. It takes a standard pizza crust (Spice N Slice uses a NY-style base) and swaps the Italian toppings for Indian ones, so instead of tomato sauce and mozzarella you get curry sauces like butter chicken or palak, tandoori-spiced proteins, paneer, red onion, and cilantro.
It’s a genuine fusion, the format of a pizza with the flavors of an Indian dinner, and it’s been popping up more and more around the DMV. It handles that pizza-night craving while giving you something with a lot more spice and personality. If you want to try the style somewhere else, Bella in Laurel does their own Indian pizzas too.

The Vibe and Experience
Spice N Slice is a casual, order-and-go kind of spot, so think takeout, delivery, or a quick bite more than a sit-down dinner. It shares a home with Max’s Spice n Curry, so it’s basically a one-stop plaza if half your group wants a full curry dinner and the other half wants pizza.
The team was so warm when we came through, they recognized us and treated us to lunch, which meant a lot. It’s an easy, family-friendly pick, especially if you’ve got picky eaters who can’t agree on Indian or pizza, because here nobody has to choose.
