Spice and Dice: BYOB + Thai Street Food in Towson

August 15, 2026

It’s Day 59 of eating at 100 Asian restaurants in Maryland, and this one’s for my Towson people: if you want yum Thai food in the area, Spice and Dice is where you go. They’ve got all the delicious classics, but I wanted to branch out and try some Bangkok-style street food this time, and I’m SO glad I did!

The short version? It’s a great Thai spot with a genuinely fun menu, and the Mama Crispy Pork Kaprow Noodles were the standout of the whole meal for me. Oh, and here’s the detail that seals it: they’re BYOB, so you can bring your own beer or wine and keep the whole thing budget-friendly. Tucked into the Radio Park shopping center off Joppa Road, it’s an easy, no-fuss spot for a weeknight Thai fix. Here’s everything I got.

A Standout Thai Restaurant in Towson

What sets Spice and Dice apart is that you can play it safe or go adventurous, and both work. On one hand you’ve got the Thai staples everyone knows and loves, the curries and pad thais and noodle soups. On the other, they run a Bangkok-style street food section that lets you order the kind of punchy, aromatic dishes you’d actually eat off a cart in Thailand. Add the BYOB policy and it’s an easy pick for a group dinner without the markup on drinks. If you’re bouncing around Baltimore County for Thai, Fuji San in Cockeysville is another BYOB spot worth having on your list. Spice and Dice just leans harder into that street-food angle, which is exactly what I came for!

What to Order at Spice and Dice

Here’s everything we got and what I thought!

Mama Crispy Pork Kaprow Noodles ($16.95)

This was the winner for me. It’s made with stir-fried ramen noodles and super crispy pork, and it packs a serious kick, so consider yourself warned if you’re spice-shy. The noodz were really flavorful and the crispy pork gave every bite this great texture contrast. I’d order it again in a second, and it’s the one I’d point you to first!

Pad Kaprow Gai Kai Dao ($15.95)

This was my first time trying this one here and I really enjoyed it. It’s minced chicken stir-fried with a ton of aromatics, served over rice with a side of soup and a crispy fried egg on top, and the presentation was honestly super cute. Very tasty! My only note: it and the crispy pork noodles landed in a similar flavor lane, so if you’re ordering both, just know they’ll taste like cousins and you might want to branch out with something from the curry side.

Crispy Crab Wonton ($8.95)

Solid, if not my absolute favorite crab wontons. What took them up a notch was the dipping sauce that came with them, which was genuinely tasty. A solid option to round out your order.

Blueberry Egg Rolls

For dessert I usually go straight for mango sticky rice, but they had blueberry egg rolls so I had to try something new, lol. TBH, they weren’t for me and I probably wouldn’t get them again. That said, everyone’s tastes are different, so if you’re a blueberry person, give them a shot and report back! Otherwise the mango sticky rice is the safe, delicious move.

I only scratched the surface, so if you’re building a bigger order, the menu’s got plenty more worth knowing:

  • A full curry lineup (green, red, Panang, yellow and Massaman) if you want something rich and comforting.
  • Classic noodles and fried rice, including pad thai and drunken noodles.
  • Mango sticky rice as the go-to dessert if blueberry egg rolls aren’t your thing.
  • Thai tea, Thai coffee and boba to round it out.

For a different Thai vibe around Baltimore County, Grace’s Thai Kitchen in Catonsville is another one I loved.

What Is Pad Kaprow?

If the menu names are throwing you, here’s the quick decoder. Pad kaprow (you’ll also see it as pad kra pao) is Thailand’s beloved holy basil stir-fry, a bold, garlicky, chili-forward dish that’s one of the most popular street foods in the country. “Gai” means chicken and “kai dao” is the crispy fried egg you get on top, so Pad Kaprow Gai Kai Dao is basically holy basil chicken with a fried egg. Now you can order it like you’ve been getting it for years!

The Vibe and Experience

Spice and Dice is a comfortable, casual sit-down spot, the kind of place that’s easy for a weeknight dinner, a family meal or a low-key group hang. The BYOB setup makes it feel a little more relaxed and social, since you can bring your own beer or wine. It’s in the Radio Park shopping center, so parking’s a non-issue, and it works whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout on the way home. Nothing fancy, just a reliable, friendly neighborhood Thai spot doing its thing well.

Spice and Dice is a great spot for Thai food in Towson, especially if you want to venture past the usual pad thai into the Bangkok street food side of the menu. The crispy pork kaprow noodles alone would bring me back, and the BYOB policy makes it an easy, affordable group dinner. It’s not fine dining and it’s not trying to be, it’s just genuinely good, flavorful Thai food done right. For more Thai around Baltimore, my visit to Thai-Lao Garden in Canton is another one to keep on your list.

Have you guys been to Spice and Dice yet? LMK what you order in the comments, Nomsters, especially if you’ve cracked the code on their curry lineup. Save this for your next Towson dinner run, and send it to the friend who’s always down for Thai!
