Hey, Nomsters! Get ready for a drool-worthy adventure as I take you through our recent stop at Spelunker’s during our Shenandoah trip. This spot specializes in delish burgers and custard, and I can’t wait to tell you more.
So, here’s everything we tried:
- Double Cavern Burger with Cheese: This was such a winner – just a classic burger that was executed so well. I’m a spice fiend so I added fresh jalapeños, but it’s perfect as is. 11/10 recommend, Nomsters. Easily one of the best burgers I’ve had all year.
- Cheesesteak: we heard they shaved their beef fresh daily so we had to try their cheesesteak as well. And while it was solid, the burger was just so much better, lol. But I’ll say this, if you’re a cheesesteak lover, you won’t be disappointed.
- Hotter than Hell Chicken Sandwich: soooo this is probably the spiciest thing I’ve ever eaten, and I can handle heat. They give you Tums with the sandwich, which I thought was hilarious at first…but quickly found it not-hilarious & necessary after a few bites, lol. It was cooked well, and the flavors were good.I have no doubt their normal-spicy chicken sandwiches are incredible.
- Fresh-Cut Fries: no burger is complete without fries, and they do ’em pretty well. Make sure you get an order to share!
- Pumpkin Milkshake: To wash everything down, Deke and I got a pumpkin shake to share (one of their seasonal flavors). Creamy, flavorful, and very pumpkin forward – we crushed this and almost ordered seconds, lol.
While their burgers are the main attraction, they also offer hot dogs, fish sandwiches, sundaes and more. Enjoy your food inside or get your grub to go through their drive thru if you’re in a hurry.
