YAY for trying new places! Deke and I recently tried a new noodle shop in Columbia called Shi Miao Dao, and we had such a blast. The name itself intrigued us – “ready in 10 seconds.” SO, here’s everything we got:
- Karaage Fried Chicken ($6.99): We started our meal with some karaage because who doesn’t love fried chicken, lol. It was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served with a delightful dipping sauce.
- Fried Mini Milk Bun ($5.99): Even though this item was more of a dessert, it arrived before our noodles, so naturally, we couldn’t resist diving into it. It arrived piping hot and was accompanied by condensed milk (SO GOOD). Absolutely delicious and tempting enough to make us want to devour it all before our main course, lol.
- Spicy Beef Brisket Rice Noodle ($15.95): We weren’t super hungry so we decided to share a bowl of noodle soup between the two of us. It turned out to be an excellent choice because the portion size was pretty dang big. The quality of their beef impressed us – tender and flavorful – and the broth had incredible depth. It was the perfect remedy for a chilly day. Highly, highly recommend, especially if you like heat!
Additional Notes:
📝 The restaurant boasts a fairly large space with a casual ambiance. While not heavily decorated, it is clean and well-maintained, providing a pleasant dining experience. The service is friendly and efficient.
📝 Shi Miao Dao also offers boba, which we skipped this time because we were full. But hey, we have another reason to return soon, right?
📝 Parking is a breeze, thanks to the ample lot out front.
📝 The portion sizes for the noodle soups were generous, making them great value for the price.
I definitely enjoyed our visit to Shi Miao Dao and would encourage you to give it a try! Make sure you comment with your thoughts below if you decide to go – I always love hearing from you =)
