Head to Q by Peter Chang for All-You-Can-Eat Dim Sum
Ok, SO I went back to Q by Peter Chang and it was NEXT LEVEL (as expected). During shoots for NOM Digital, Minje and I usually snack lightly, but this time we couldn’t help ourselves. The dim sum was some of the best I’ve had, period, and getting a peek at the team hand‑making everything in the back sealed the deal. It was my first time watching rice crepes pulled fresh from scratch, and I am OBSESSED.
If you want to keep the Peter Chang all-you-can-eat dim sum streak going, Chang Chang in DC does their own $38 unlimited weekend brunch near Dupont Circle and it’s worth the trip.
Weekend AYCE Dim Sum
All‑You‑Can‑Eat Dim Sum runs Saturdays & Sundays from 11AM–3PM and is $33 per adult (kids 5–12 are $16). The kicker is the quality: you’re getting handmade, hot‑off‑the‑steamer pieces with excellent pacing. Order in rounds, keep the table warm with 2–3 plates at a time, and reorder favorites.

What you should get at Q by Peter Chang…
- Scallion Bubble Pancake — thrilled it’s included. Puffy magic that’s SO good with the dipping sauce that comes back.
- Fish Ball Soup – Light, savory broth that resets your palate between heavier bites.
- Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow) – Delicate wrapper, snappy shrimp. Benchmark‑level.
- Shrimp Rice Crepe (Cheung Fun) – Made from scratch in‑house (like everything else at Q, lol); silky ribbons with that fresh‑pulled bounce.
- Pork in Bean Curd Wrap – great texture, deeply savory, super satisfying.
- Pumpkin Mochi – Cozy and chewy with gentle sweetness. Perfect for fall.
- Egg Tart – Quite possibly the best egg tart I’ve had: buttery crust + custard that barely holds its jiggle. 11/10.
Why Q Stands Out
- Craft & Consistency: You see (and taste) the work – dumplings pleated tight, rice batter steamed to order, fryers moving with purpose. I’m always so impressed when I see the kitchen in action. It’s seriously inspiring, and everyone moves SO quickly and efficiently.
- Dining Room Flow: Dishes land fast but not frantic, so you can actually savor. Staff are great at recommending sequences and pacing.
Additional Notesssss…
- Reservations: They take resys and weekends get busy so book ahead to lock your time window.
- Seating: Outdoor tables pop when the weather’s nice; inside is spacious enough for groups.
- Family‑Friendly: Kids 5–12 are $16 for AYCE.
- No Leftovers: AYCE leftovers can’t be carried out FYI.
- Parking: The Waverly Garage is right around the corner; it’s the simplest move, and it’s not too pricy IMO.
- FYI on Menus: Q’s weekend dim sum lineup is different from the tapas/dim sum format at Peter Chang Gaithersburg or NiHao so it’s a great excuse to try all three, lol.
