Who’s excited to read about nom Mediterranean cuisine? For today’s post, I’ll be spotlighting Prino’s in Hanover, MD. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this hidden gem, and let me tell you, the food was FIRE! Just thinking about it makes me want to go back again and again.
Here’s what you need to get:
Make sure you kick your meal off with their wings. Trust me, this is a MUST! My personal favorite is the honey old bay flavor – the combination of sweet and savory is on point – and the crispiness is next level. These are probably some of the best wings I’ve had in Maryland – I’d put ’em in my top 5.
For the main course, my go-to is their Lamb Gyro. The meat is tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, and they’re generous with fillings. Each one comes fully loaded with a generous amount of meat, fresh tomatoes, onions, and tangy tzatziki sauce. At $11.99 for the lamb (or $9.99 for chicken), it’s a great price IMO.
If you’re looking for something a bit more substantial, the platters are a solid choice. For $16.50, you get your choice of protein, rice, a Greek salad, grilled pita bread, and Greek dressing + tzatziki sauce.
If you’re craving that same generous platter energy with a Greek spin, Chris’s Charcoal Pit in Edgewater is worth the trip for big gyro platters at a budget-friendly price in Anne Arundel County.
Don’t forget to save some room for dessert because they’re cookies are scrumptious. The white ones, known as kourabiedes, are particularly divine. For $6.50, you get five of these melt-in-your-mouth treats. I apologize for not remembering the names of the other cookies, but trust me, they were all tasty.
