If you’re hunting down really good Thai food in the Tysons area, let me put you on to Neisha Thai. I’d been before, but this visit reminded me exactly why I loved it, because the food’s made from scratch with allll the love and it shows.
A huge shoutout to their team for hosting me, because I left already planning my next trip back. The papaya salad might genuinely be the best I’ve ever had, but honestly, everything I ordered was next level. Neisha’s a Vienna staple that’s been around since 1999, tucked behind the Nordstrom Rack on Leesburg Pike, and it’s got this lovely, zen feel inside, right down to a little waterfall. Whether you’re after a comforting bowl of tom yum or a fun pineapple fried rice, this spot delivers. Fair warning though, that papaya salad alone’s worth the trip!

Why Neisha Thai Belongs on Your Tysons Dining List…
So what makes Neisha stand out in an area with plenty of Thai options? It comes down to care. Owner Rick opened the restaurant back in 1999 and named it after his daughter, and that personal touch runs through the whole place.
Everything’s made from scratch, and I mean everything, right down to the dipping sauces, which isn’t something every spot can say. When I was there, Rick came by and talked my ear off about Thai food in the best way, clearly passionate about what he’s putting out.
That pride shows up on the plate. Add in a genuinely lovely dining room, a full bar, and a menu with real range, and it’s easy to see why this place has stuck around for over two decades. If you’re making a whole night of it in Vienna, Evelyn Rose is another local favorite worth a look.
What to Order at Neisha Thai
There’s a big menu here, but these three were my absolute favorites and where I’d tell you to start.
Papaya Salad ($12.95)
This is the one, probably the best papaya salad I’ve ever had. They pile it high and load it with several shrimp, and the flavor’s just next level, that perfect punch of funky, spicy, and bright. If you’re into fish sauce and heat, this is a must, a genuine 10 out of 10 for me. Do not skip it!

Ultimate Tom Yum Seafood ($29.95)
Another next level dish. Rick makes his tom yum creamy, which is how they do it in his hometown, versus the clear version you might be used to, and trust me, it’s a banger! It’s absolutely loaded with seafood, think squid, shrimp, scallops, mussels, and more. It’s on the pricier side, but it’s generous enough to share, so grab an order for the table.
Pineapple Fried Rice ($19.95)
I was craving fried rice, this got recommended, and I’m glad I listened. The presentation’s so fun, served right in a pineapple, and it’s packed with cashews, scallions, tomatoes, pork floss, and more. It was super tasty. A great one to round out the table.
A Quick Note on the Menu
Since everything’s made from scratch, the quality carries across the board, so don’t be afraid to explore beyond my picks. They’ve also got vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options, which makes it an easy spot to bring a mixed group without anyone missing out.
Is Neisha Thai’s Tom Yum Creamy or Clear?
Here’s a fun one, because it depends where you go. Traditional tom yum’s often a clear, sour-and-spicy broth, but at Neisha, Rick makes his creamy, which is the style from his hometown in Thailand. That creamy version gives the soup a rounder, richer body while keeping all that signature lemongrass and lime tang. Neither one’s more correct, they’re just regional takes, but if you’ve only ever had the clear kind, Neisha’s creamy tom yum’s absolutely worth trying.
The Vibe and Experience
Neisha’s got a genuinely relaxing atmosphere, the kind of spot that works for a date night or a family dinner alike. There’s a little waterfall inside that makes the whole room feel zen, and the service was great. They’ve also got live music on Friday and Saturday nights during dinner, so time your visit right if you want a little ambiance with your meal. Parking’s easy too, there’s a free lot just steps away, which is always a win in the Tysons area. It’s comfortable, welcoming, and clearly run by people who care.

Is Neisha Thai Worth the Trip?
If you’re anywhere near Tysons and you want scratch-made Thai with real personality, Neisha’s an easy yes, and that papaya salad alone’s worth the drive.
