Mon Ami Gabi: A Classic French Bistro Done Right

December 25, 2025

Sooooo I totally forgot to post my reel about Mon Ami Gabi, but hey, better late than never, right? A while back, I met up with a friend for lunch here, and honestly, it was such a lovely experience.

Located right in Bethesda Row, Mon Ami Gabi is one of those spots that feels both classic and polished without being stuffy. The interior is beautiful, the restaurant itself is fairly large, and there’s also a pretty patio that’s perfect for warmer days. From start to finish, the service was impeccable – attentive, warm, and exactly what you hope for from a French bistro.

We kept things simple and each ordered a main this time around, but I already know I’ll be back to try more of the menu. I went with their Steak Frites, and it definitely hit the spot.

One thing I really appreciated is that you get to choose your preparation style. I opted for the Classique, which comes topped with maître d’hôtel butter, but there are four other options as well: au poivre, béarnaise, bordelaise, and roquefort.

All five preparations are priced the same at $35.95, and the portions were generous – great value for the quality and location. Overall, it was a relaxed, satisfying lunch in a beautiful setting, and Mon Ami Gabi is absolutely a solid choice whether you’re meeting friends, doing a casual business lunch, or just craving a well-executed steak frites moment.
