Mexican food won my latest poll, so here we are, lol. A bunch of you kept recommending Mi Pueblo, so I finally rolled through with Deke to see what the hype was about, and yeah, I get it now. This family-run spot in Glen Burnie is clearly a local favorite, and let me warn you: they do NOT play about portions.
I legit gasped when my food came out! It’s the kind of place where you order a couple of things and walk out with leftovers for breakfast the next day (which we did, no regrets). The service was great, and the grilled chicken quesadilla was the standout of the whole meal. If you’re in the Glen Burnie area and want big, generous Mexican plates that won’t break the bank, this one’s worth the trip, Nomsters.

What to Know About Mi Pueblo…
What makes Mi Pueblo stand out is honestly the whole package. It’s a family-run spot that’s been feeding Glen Burnie for years, and it’s the kind of neighborhood place locals stay loyal to for a reason. The menu’s huge, from sizzling fajitas to a molcajete built for sharing, and the portions are truly massive across the board.
There’s a full bar too, so you can grab a margarita (the Cadillac gets a lot of love), and they make the guacamole tableside, which is always a nice touch. Add generous lunch specials and build-your-own combos, and it’s an easy, crowd-pleasing pick whether you’re feeding the whole family or you’re just really hungry.
What to Order at Mi Pueblo
Here’s what Deke and I got, and what I’d steer you toward.
Grilled Chicken Quesadilla ($15.75)
Talk about value, this was the star. I legit gasped when it arrived, because it was the biggest quesadilla I’ve ever seen, STUFFED with tender, nicely seasoned chicken, and it came with rice, salad and guacamole on the side. It’s basically a full meal and then some. I highly, highly recommend it, especially if you’re bringing an appetite!
Tacos Al Pastor ($18.75)
These were Deke’s pick, and he was a happy man. The al pastor was cooked beautifully and flavored really well, served with fried beans, onions, tomatoes, tomatillo and cilantro. Solid, generous, and exactly what you want from a plate of tacos. If you’re a taco fiend, Tijuana Tacos right here in Glen Burnie is another Mexican spot I love, and their al pastor is top-tier too.

Flan ($6.50)
They told me the flan was homemade, so I couldn’t resist. Real talk, it wasn’t my favorite flan ever, the texture on the bottom congealed a little, but it was still pretty good and I finished it happily. If you’ve got room for dessert, it’s a fine way to end the meal.
A few more things worth knowing:
- The complimentary chips and salsa are delish (just go easy on the hot sauce, lol).
- Create-your-own combos let you build an affordable plate for dinner.
- There’s a whole vegetarian section, plus some gluten free options.
Great Value and Lunch Specials
One thing I really appreciate about Mi Pueblo is the value. The portions are so generous that a single dish can basically be two meals, and they lean into that with lunch specials Monday through Friday and create-your-own combos at dinner for really reasonable prices. If you’re feeding a family or a hungry crew, it stretches a long way. Between the free chips and salsa, the big plates, and the combo deals, it’s an easy spot to eat well without overthinking the bill.
The Vibe and Experience
The interior’s bright, colorful and cheerful, exactly the kind of welcoming energy you want from a neighborhood Mexican spot, and the service was great. There’s a big parking lot right out front, which is a small thing that makes a real difference. It’s very family friendly and works for a casual dinner or a margarita night with friends. If you want to keep exploring Glen Burnie’s Latin food scene, Mi Guate Antojitos does yum Guatemalan shucos just up the road.

Would I Go Back to Mi Pueblo?
Mi Pueblo’s a reliable, family-friendly Mexican spot with portions that genuinely stunned me and prices that make it easy to say yes. It’s not the fanciest Mexican food in Maryland, but it’s hearty, generous, and clearly beloved by its regulars, and that grilled chicken quesadilla alone would bring me back!
