Manila Mart: Delicious Filipino Food in Beltsville

December 14, 2023

I’m so, so, SO excited to feature Manila Mart today on the blog. Trust me when I say this place is worth the drive! It took me and Minje about 45 minutes to get there — but hey, good food is always worth it, right? Lol.

Anywho, here’s everything we got during our latest nom adventure:

  • Combo Platter #1 ($11.50) – this set ft aromatic garlic rice, perfectly seasoned sriracha garlic eggplant with tofu, and a generous serving of pancit bihon — rice stick noodles topped with a medley of veggies and tender chicken. Everything was good, but the tofu was standoutout – it might just be one of the best tofu dishes I’ve had in a minute!
  • Combo Platter #2 ($15.08) – we got garlic rice with this as well then added sisig — grilled and fried pork, juicy and infused with flavors from lemon, shallots, and jalapeños – and lechon kawali. The lechon was phenomenal – think deep-fried pork belly that is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. So, so good.
  • Lumpia Shanghai – Filipino-style egg rolls that came in a serving of 6, filled with savory pork. But what took them to the next level was the accompanying “all purpose sauce” that was incredibly delicious. It was so good, it could make cardboard taste yum, lol.
  • Karioka ($1.99 per order) – I’ll never pass on dessert, lol. This was my first time trying these nom rice flour coconut balls (caramelized on the outside), but I enjoyed the texture a ton. The exterior was nice + crunchy, and it was delightfully chewy on the inside.

Additional notesssss:

  • The combos we ordered were not set by the restaurant so feel free to mix and match, Nomsters! Pricing varies on what you get though, just as an FYI.
  • Everything we ordered was exceptionally tasty, but the standout dishes were definitely the lechon kawali, eggplant/tofu, lumpia, and garlic rice.
  • The “all purpose sauce” we were served was out of this world – if you like to go heavy on the sauce, you may want to order some extra for your meal!
  • The vibe’s fast casual – you order at the counter and pick up your food when it’s ready. Simple and convenient.
  • PSA, they also sell boba! I didn’t try it, but if you’re in the mood for a tasty bev, you have the option to indulge.
  • They also have a nice mart so make sure you get your browse on after chowing down.
