Maiwand Kabob is easily one of my favorite carryout places in Hanover. In fact, it’s been one of my go-to spots for years now. Their food’s super consistent, and I have yet to have a bad meal from there. For those of you looking for recs, here’s my go-to order:
If you’re exploring more of the Hanover food scene, Mai Dragon is a fantastic option for dim sum and dumplings right in the area.
▪️pumpkin: baked baby pumpkin seasoned with sugar, served with garlic yogurt and ground beef sauce. Ridiculously tasty and it keeps well, too.
▪️their chicken kabob platter: this comes with salad, rice and naan, but I always ask to sub spinach for the salad, and they do it free of charge. Their chickpeas are also fantastic if you’d prefer to get that instead. Although chicken’s my favorite, they do a mean lamb as well so make sure to give that a try, too.
PS. They have cut jalapeños and lemon slices available – I always take a few because I love spicy! The meat is always so, SO tender, the sauce is unreal, and the fresh naan’s so good, you’ll cry tears of joy.
