The private igloos at La Vie are absolutely gorgeous! Located on the penthouse level of their restaurant, they’re cozy, intimate, AND offer breathtaking views of the Potomac. Depending on the size of your group, they can accommodate anywhere from 2 to 8 guests, making it perfect for a small gathering or a special occasion celebration.
For another standout DC special occasion spot, Marcus DC at the Morrow Hotel is a tasting menu experience from Marcus Samuelsson that’s exactly the kind of dinner you plan weeks in advance.
And the FOOD! It was even better than what I remembered. Here’s everything I tried:
- Mediterranean Spreads ($21): Simone and I kicked off our brunch with a trio of hummus, tzatziki, and banana ghanouj – a delish start to our meal!
- Banana Pancake ($25): While the banana pancake was undeniably delicious, the true star of the show was the tiramisu French toast.
- Tiramisu French Toast: With its rich flavors and the addition of a delectable coffee chocolate syrup and whipped mascarpone, this dish was a heavenly treat. 10/10 recommend.
- Blue Crab Egg Benedict ($48): If you’re a fan of eggs Benedict, then you must try La Vie’s version. The flavors were spot-on, and the combination of the perfectly poached eggs with the fresh blue crab was simply delightful.
- La Vie Espresso: A boozy espresso martini that was the perfect pick-me-up!
- All Smoke, No Fire: this was Simone’s drink, and she said she enjoyed it. And as you can see, the presentation’s super on point.
- Cotton-Candy Baked Alaska ($39): If want an Instagram-worthy dessert, look no further than the baked Alaska. This dessert was a showstopper for real, and it tasted as yum as it looked!
