Kuya Ja’s Lechon Is One of the Best Things I’ve Ever Eaten

February 4, 2026

Kuya Ja’s lechon is seriously one of the best things I have ever eaten. It was such a privilege to watch Chef Javier in action as he cut into that slow-roasted pork belly. I will never get tired of seeing that cross section. You should make sure your sound is on when you watch the video, because you can literally hear the crispiness of that magical goodness.

Here is everything that is featured in today’s video:

  • Lechon Belly Combo ($16.99, plus upcharges for the longanisa, egg, and garlic rice): If you have not tried their lechon yet, you need to go as soon as possible. This is one of the few dishes I would happily sit in hours of traffic for, because it is that satisfying. The combo comes with rice, atsara, and two different sauces. I highly recommend adding the sweet pork longanisa, which is made in-house, and upgrading to garlic rice.
  • KJ’s Signature Pancit ($15.99): I love this pancit, because it includes shrimp, chicken, longanisa, and eggs. A vegetarian option is also available, and it is made with tofu instead.
  • Pork Belly Sisig ($8.99): This dish is made with sautéed headcheese, along with different vegetables and aromatics. It is such a tasty starter, and it is an easy order if you want something bold and savory to kick things off.
  • Beef Empanadas ($7.99): This is one of Chef’s favorite items at Kuya Ja’s, and it is a must if you love sweet-and-savory flavors. The filling is extremely flavorful, and the jalapeño mayo that comes with it is so good. I am definitely a fan.
  • Ube Milkshake ($8.99, with a small upcharge for Oreo): This drink is a must for my ube lovers. I loved the toasted coconut cream on top, and it was the perfect way to wash everything down. Kuya Ja’s also has another concept called Lapu Lapu Breakfast, which is known for amazing ube ice cream, and they use that ice cream to create this milkshake.

Their lechon is extremely popular, so they sell out often. Definitely try and go earlier if you can! PS. They also offer desserts from Gwenie’s Pastries, so you should make sure you save room for dessert.

I went back and gave Gwenie’s its own full Gwenie’s Pastries review, so check it out before your next Kuya Ja’s run.
