Nomsters, Ja Kum Sung in Glen Burnie, MD is the lunch spot you’ve been dreaming about. Picture this – amazing food, wallet-friendly prices, and a cozy atmosphere. Intrigued? You’re gonna want to keep reading!
Love me some lunch deals, and trust me when I say Ja Kum Sung has some good ones. My favorite dish out of the spread we got was the Soondoobu Jjigae (tofu stew), and it was only $11.99. This pipin’ hot bowl is perfect for winter, and it’s a must for spicy food lovers. This with rice + banchan is pure perfection.
My second fave dish was their Jjajangmyun. This classic Chinese-Korean noodle dish is made with a tasty black bean sauce, and it’s easily one of the most popular dishes in Korea. They give you a HUGE bowl priced at just $8.99, which is an amazing deal IMO. Also pro tip – try adding some chili powder on top + enjoy your noodz with raw onion (I recommend putting some vinegar on top) and dakwang (pickled yellow radish) to take your experience to the next level.
If you’re on a noodle kick and want to mix things up, VN Noodle House in Gambrills serves up great Vietnamese noodles and pho just a short drive away.
Now, let’s talk about their Tangsuyuk! This yum sweet and sour pork is yet another popular Chinese-Korean dish. They offer small + large, but their small was like a large, lol. FYI, this wasn’t one of their lunch deals, but it’s still a great value due to portion size IMO.
Lunch deals are available on weekdays from 11-2:30pm, but they’re closed on Tuesdays. I’m not sure if their hours are still the same so it might be worth calling them before making the drive. Have you guys dined at Ja Kum Sung yet? Comment below with *your* favorite dishes there if you have.
And if you’re already making the trip to Glen Burnie for lunch, save RamenYa for your next visit; their tonkotsu ramen and pork buns are the perfect dinner follow-up. —
