I don’t spend a ton of time in Hagerstown, but I’m telling you right now, that needs to change. I always make a stop in Hagerstown when I drive up to Pittsburgh to see my parents, and I had been hearing about Home Run Donuts at 16512 National Pike for SO long. I’d heard about this place from SO many people, and when hot dog queen Farideh confirmed it was legit, I obviously had to make it an official stop.
Nomsters, the hype is very real. These are not your standard round-of-the-mill donuts. Home Run Donuts is a made-to-order donut trailer with a rotating weekly menu, and the donuts are absolutely MASSIVE, we’re talking roughly 1.5 pounds each and two to three times the size of a typical donut.
Everything’s topped after you order so nothing’s soggy, and they’ve got both permanent flavors and five or six rotating weekly specials that change things up constantly. I ended up trying six donuts on my visit, and between the Blazin Blueberry, the Buckeye, and the Cherry Cheesecake, I was done for the day in the best way. If you’re ever passing through Hagerstown or making a day trip from the DMV, this is absolutely worth a stop. Trust me on this one.

What Makes Home Run Donuts a Must Visit Spot
Home Run Donuts has been run by Fawn and Matt Strite since April 2016, and it’s built a serious following with 4.7 stars across over 500 Google reviews. The whole operation runs out of a food trailer with an overhead shelter and a gravel lot, with benches outside for waiting and eating.
There’s no indoor seating, no beverages on-site (bring your own coffee, seriously, do not skip this step), and the hours are limited: Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday only. But the donuts are SO worth showing up for, and every single leftover at the end of the day gets donated to a local nonprofit, which I love.
The menu has four permanent flavors plus around five to six rotating weekly specials, and they post the week’s options to their Facebook and Instagram a day or two in advance, so def check before you go. What to Order at Home Run Donuts
Cherry Cheesecake with Graham Crackers ($6.50)
This one’s a PRODUCTION. We’re talking a massive donut topped with so much goodness you’ll wonder how they managed to stack it all on there. Because everything’s topped to order, nothing’s soggy, and the combination of the cheesecake topping, the graham cracker crunch, and the fresh cherry situation is just really, really good.
My advice? eat it ASAP. It’s best fresh, and it’s already impressive when it’s handed to you, so don’t wait around. For a specialty donut this size with this much topping, $6.50 is a seriously good deal. Wild.

The Buckeye ($5)
My other favorite from this visit, and the peanut butter and chocolate drizzle combo is just elite. Peanut butter and chocolate drizzle, and I know it sounds simple, but the execution’s just elite. The peanut butter’s generous, the chocolate drizzle does its thing, and together they just work. If you’re a peanut butter person, this is a non-negotiable order.
Strawberries n Cream ($5.75)
A perfect summer donut. Vanilla whipped frosting topped with fresh strawberries, and it’s genuinely delicious and fresh tasting, even for a MASSIVE donut. The fresh fruit makes a difference here, and the whipped frosting is a nice light touch. Really lovely and would 100% get again.
Also on the Menu
- Blazin Blueberry ($2.50): one of my faves and a SUPER yummy value order. Nice real blueberry flavor.
- Chocolate Dip with sprinkles ($3.50): a classic, solid execution.
- Boston Cream ($5): large, stuffed with a good amount of cream.
- Monkey bread donut holes: these were sold out during my visit but on the must-try list for next time for sure.
Other rotating flavors worth knowing about: Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Tiramisu, Triple Berry Cheese, and a savory Toasted Pizza Donut if you want to get weird with it (in the best way).
Why I Always Stop in Hagerstown
I’ll be real, I don’t spend a ton of time in Hagerstown, but I always make a stop when I’m driving through to Pittsburgh. But my parents are up in Pittsburgh, and whenever I make that trip, I’ve started building in Hagerstown stops. And after this visit, it is absolutely going on the permanent stop list, lol.
The whole setup is super casual and unpretentious, a trailer with a gravel lot and benches, and the wait is part of the deal. Wait times can get long during peak hours (sometimes over an hour), so factor that into your plans, especially on Saturdays. But the donuts are worth it. Def worth the hype, and I am very much sharing it with you, Nomsters.
The Vibe and Experience
It’s a trailer with a gravel lot and benches. Super casual, completely unpretentious, and the quality of what comes out of that trailer is honestly shocking in the best way. The wait is part of the experience, and the donuts come out fresh and topped to order.
Bring cash or card (both accepted), bring your own coffee, and be prepared to dig in right away because these are best fresh. This spot’s great for anyone driving through Western Maryland, making a Hagerstown day trip, or just looking for a donut experience that’s actually unlike anything else in the state. Families, couples, solo food adventures, all welcome.

YES. I’m putting this in my top Maryland donut experiences, full stop. The size, the quality, the rotating menu, the price point, it all just works. If you’re ever on the way to or from Western Maryland or making a Hagerstown day trip, this is a non-negotiable stop.
Get the Cherry Cheesecake and the Buckeye at minimum, check their social media for the week’s specials before you go, and bring a friend because these donuts are meant to be shared (or not, no judgment). Have you guys tried Home Run Donuts yet? Let me know in the comments, Nomsters!
Thanks to everyone who recommended this spot, and honestly, I can’t believe it took me this long to go. Sometimes the best finds are the ones you drive past a hundred times before someone finally convinces you to stop. Consider this your sign, Nomsters.
