From Tandoori Chicken to Momos: Harbor Tandoor in Baltimore Shines

If you’re on the hunt for the best Indian restaurant in Baltimore, you’ll want to add Harbor Tandoor to the top of your list. This gem in the heart of Harbor East serves up bold flavors, generous portions, and some of the best momos and tandoori chicken I’ve had in the States. From the sizzling plates to the warm hospitality, it’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again.

What You’ll Find at Harbor Tandoor

Harbor Tandoor isn’t just another Indian restaurant – it’s a destination for anyone who craves vibrant spices and authentic dishes. Here’s what sets them apart:

  • Freshly prepared dishes rooted in authentic Indian recipes
  • A mix of crowd favorites (tandoori chicken, biryani, curries) and unique finds (like momos)
  • Lunch specials that make it easy to enjoy mid-day
  • Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere in Baltimore’s Harbor East

What I Ordered

Here’s everything we tried – and what I thought:

Chicken Steam Momo ($9): Stuffed with minced chicken and warm spices, these momos are steamed to perfection and served in a flavorful house tomato sauce. Hands down, the best momo I’ve had — chewy skins, a nice kick of heat, and a 10/10 flavor profile.

Tandoori Chicken ($17): Arriving at the table sizzling hot, this dish had me salivating from the first bite. Perfectly cooked, bursting with smoky flavor, and served with a side of tikka sauce for dipping. An absolute must-order.

Baingan Bharta ($9, medium): This roasted eggplant dish was solid, but not my personal favorite. Still worth trying if you’re an eggplant fan, though I’d personally explore other menu items next time.

Why It’s Worth a Stop

Between the flavor-packed momos and sizzling tandoori chicken, Harbor Tandoor delivers some of the best Indian food Baltimore has to offer. The staff is warm and attentive, though note that food can take a little longer (30–40 minutes during my visit) since everything is prepared fresh.

If you’re craving bold South Asian flavors further up Belair Rd in Baltimore County, Tikkaville in Nottingham serves up legit halal Pakistani food, including karahi, paratha rolls, and tikka kabobs worth knowing about.

If you’re already a fan, you’ll know what I mean — and if not, I highly recommend giving them a try. Next on my list? Their biryani, which I hear is legendary.

If you’re looking to keep exploring Indian food in the Baltimore area, Hyderabad Stories in Cockeysville is another must-visit, a South Indian spot known for its ghee roast goat pulao and tandoori chicken, and 100% halal.
