I can’t even begin to tell you guys how excited I am about Halo Hawaiian BBQ. 11/10 for real! Located in Arbutus, they offer everything from poke to Hawaiian staples. Here’s everything I got with Deke:
If you’re into rice-bowl spots around this part of Maryland, also keep NY Halal Food Cart BWI on your radar, a halal cart just a few miles away in the BWI cell phone lot doing chicken and lamb over rice NYC-cart style.
▪️Chicken Katsu mini meal – $9.50 for tons of katsu, one scoop of rice, and a scoop of their delish macaroni salad + sauce. A+++. So crispy. So good. I can’t wait to go back for more.
▪️Loco Moco – $12.75 for two homemade hamburger patties served with two scoops of rice, eggs, one scoop of Mac salad + gravy. Very comforting. My boyfriend absolutely loved this!
▪️Spam Musubi – $2.35, really tasty. I’m a sucker for spam, and I will always, ALWAYS get it if I see it on a menu, especially if it’s spam musubi, lol.
▪️ Hawaiian Sun juices – it was my first time trying this. It was a little on the sweeter side for me, but I enjoyed having it with my meal 😀 I think I would’ve loved it if it was carbonated or had a bit more acidity, but that’s just my own personal preference.
Additional notes:
▪️LOVED that there was a spacious parking lot – a major plus when dining in the burbs =P
▪️everything is made to order so expect to wait a bit – you can also call/order ahead for pickup if you’re in a hurry! We waited a good 20-30 minutes, and they weren’t too busy so it’ll most likely be longer if you go during lunch or dinner rush.
A true gem! I hope you guys all go to try their food because it’s definitely worth a trip. Comment below if you’ve been, friends!
