Where to get Delicious Vegan Food in Maryland

December 1, 2024

Alright Nomsters, for today’s post, we’re sticking with 7 scrumptious spots. SO, without further ado, here’s where you can get delicious vegan food in Maryland!

1. Ci Su

I come here all the time & get their food delivered if I’m feeling lazy. I’m a huge fan of their noms, and I think it’s really interesting that they don’t cook with any garlic or onions. I have NO idea how their food is so flavorful, lol.

Their hot & crispy eggplant’s a must, and their salt & pepper tofu’s a winner as well. Definitely make sure to try at least those two dishes when you go. You can thank me afterwards!

PS. ask for chili sauce if you like heat (it’s SO good), and they also offer vegan boba as well if you’d like to get an extra treat while you’re there.

📍2649 Annapolis Road B, Hanover
⏰T-Su 11-8pm

2. St. Veg

Everything here’s made from scratch in house, and you can really taste the love and care they put into their food. They’re famous for their Flavor Bomb Pho Dip, but I personally enjoyed the crispy flower bites (UNREAL) and mumbai bowl more. Their drinks were VERY tasty as well – highly recommend their lavender iced tea and saintly iced chai!

📍14929 Shady Grove Rd. Unit M, Rockville
⏰M-Sa 11-8pm

3. Great Sage

Great Sage is a wonderful spot for vegans and carnivores alike. This plant based gem is located in Clarksville, and they have something for everyone (and that includes wheat, soy and nut free options). Must tries include their buffalo cauliflower, mac and cheese, and artichoke dip.

Pro tip: make sure you save room for dessert because they have lots of baked goods to choose from… but get the carrot cake for sure, lol.

4. Sticky Fingers

There’s a reason why chef-owner Doron is a two time cupcake wars champ. If you’re looking for amazing vegan treats, you gotta check out Sticky Fingers in Takoma Park. Her desserts are NEXT LEVEL, like you genuinely wouldn’t know these were vegan. Best chocolate chip cookies EVER, and they also do cupcakes, personalized cakes, and lots more. RUN, don’t walk.

📍314 Carroll St NW, Washington, DC
⏰M-Fr 7am-7pm, Sa & Su 8am-7pm

5. NuVegan

It’s been a minute since I last visited NuVegan, but I really enjoyed their food when I went. They serve their eats in a cafeteria style line, and they have tons of noms to choose from. They use all natural + organic ingredients whenever they can, and they have gluten free options available as well.

They have a few locations in the DMV – their MD spot’s in College Park – and they have everything from vegan chick’n drummies to vegan fried fish sandwiches.

📍8150 Baltimore Ave, College Park, MD
⏰M-Sa 11-9pm, Su 10-7pm

6. Donut Run

Honestly, some of the best donuts in the DMV, and easily THE BEST vegan donuts in the entire area. Make sure you follow them on Instagram to see their daily list of offerings on stories! It’s usually posted around 7am, and they have so many creative flavors to choose from. They also have cake donuts available as well!

I finally did a full deep dive on them too, so head to my Donut Run review for the complete flavor breakdown and everything you need to know before you go.

chocolate glazed donuts

I wasn’t sure if I should include them in this list, but I ended up doing so since they’re Takoma Park MD/DC. BUT for my nomsters looking for DC recs, here are some for you quickly: you gotta go to DC Vegan (THE BEST), Elizabeth’s (for an “upscale” vegan experience), MITA (another unbelievable vegan fine dining spot), Oyster Oyster (a plant based michelin star restaurant) and Planta DC (always a solid option).

📍6904 4th St, NW Washington, DC
⏰7-2pm daily

7. Planta

I mentioned Planta briefly while listing my DC recs, but they also have a location in Bethesda as well. Their menu’s really solid IMO – I think their food’s really fun and interesting, and the space + vibes are on point. Some of my personal faves are their spaghetti carbonara, vegan sushi, and their bao sliders – YUM!

PS. they also have happy hour from 3-6pm Monday thru Friday, brunch on weekends til 4pm, maki Monday with unlimited rolls after 5pm, and 1/2 priced wine all day on Wednesdays.

📍4910 Elm St, Bethesda, MD
⏰M-TH 11:30-9:30pm, Fr 11:30-10pm, Sa 11-10pm, Su 11-9:30pm
