Good Karma Creamery: The Columbia Ice Cream Spot That Actually Lives Up to the Hype
Let me start this off by saying YES, their ice cream absolutely lives up to the hype. I first learned about them through Christina Tkacik, who wrote a fantastic feature on them in early October. If you haven’t read it yet, her Baltimore Banner article (“The Dish: This ice cream sells out in minutes”) is well worth the click. It definitely got me curious… and now I fully understand the obsession, lol.
The Story Behind the Creamery
Owner John Williams launched Good Karma Creamery in 2023, and the passion shows in every pint. All of their flavors are original creations, and they make every single base from scratch – no shortcuts, no pre-made mixes. And when I say they load their pints with mix-ins? I mean LOAD them up.
What I Tried…
Their flavors rotate often, which keeps things fresh and exciting, but here’s what I had the chance to try: Sublime Key Lime, Coffee Euphoreo, Better Pecan, Euphreo, Oreo Fable and Oatmeal Dream Pie. TBH, every single pint was freaking delicious, but Euphoreo was the standout for me. Like… I get why this sells out. Trust me when I say it’s a must.
How to Get Your Fix
Good Karma Creamery doesn’t do walk-ups because all sales happen online through @hotplate. You preorder your pints and choose from a rotating selection of 3–5 flavors. They also offer 6-pack preorders at the start of each month (!!) for the hardcore fans.
Pickup is available at 📍 9147 Red Branch Rd, Columbia, MD or you can choose local delivery if that’s easier. Pints are $13 each, and honestly? Worth every penny.
