Georgia Grace Cafe: A Cozy Brunch Spot in Historic Ellicott City

September 29, 2026

My mom was in town for a few weeks, and you already know I dragged her to all my favorites, lol. Georgia Grace Cafe (a personal fave of mine in Old Ellicott City) was right at the top of that list, and I was so excited to finally treat her here. This charming little cafe makes pretty much EVERYTHING from scratch, and while they’re best known for their crepes, I’ve enjoyed every single thing I’ve ever ordered.

It sits right on historic Main Street, so you can pair it with a slow wander through the shops. The short version? It’s cozy, the food’s fresh and delish, and that warm blueberry coffee cake was the highlight. If you want a scratch-made breakfast or lunch in Ellicott City, this gem’s the move, Nomsters!

What Makes Georgia Grace Cafe One of Ellicott City’s Must-Try Cafes

What sets Georgia Grace apart is that made-from-scratch ethos, and it runs deep. The owner, Paula, grew up in a Greek family where nothing was processed, and she brings that same spirit here, so the salad dressings, the pita, even the gluten free cheesecake are all made in house.

The cafe’s named in honor of her mom, which fits the whole warm, homey feel of the place. They’re famous for their crepes, both savory and sweet, but the menu wanders happily into Greek territory too, with dishes like souvlaki, house pita, and pastries like baklava and loukoumades. It’s the kind of spot where the quality comes from care, not shortcuts, and you can taste the difference in every bite.

What to Order at Georgia Grace Cafe

Here’s what my mom and I got, plus a couple of things I always point people toward.

Lahaniko ($16)

If you want to see the crepe game at its best, get the Lahaniko. It’s a house-made gluten free crepe stuffed with roasted tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, portobello mushrooms, onions and spinach, then topped with avocado puree and served with a side of hummus. It’s extremely tasty and absolutely loaded with veggies. A great pick if you’re eating gluten free or just want something veggie-forward.

Chicken Souvlaki ($18)

I usually go for a sandwich or a sweet crepe, but I switched it up and tried the chicken souvlaki this time. It comes with a Greek salad piled on housemade pita with tzatziki and house-cut fries, and the portions are generous. Real talk, it wasn’t my absolute favorite dish here, but it was still very tasty. If it’s your first visit though, I’d steer you to the crepes first.

Blueberry Coffee Cake

This was the sleeper hit. They served it warm and it was SOOOO good! My mom loved it so much she got up to go inspect the pastry display herself, lol. I lost my receipt so I can’t tell you the exact price, but do not leave without something from that pastry case!

A couple more I’d point you to:

  • The Piggly Wiggy (their pulled pork) is scrumptious.
  • The creme de la creme is an amaaazing dessert crepe option.
  • They also do Greek sweets like baklava and loukoumades if you’re in a pastry mood.

Bringing My Mom to My Old Ellicott City Favorite

Part of why I love this place is that it’s the kind of spot you want to share with someone, which is exactly why it made the cut when my mom was in town. Bringing her here was a highlight of her visit, the kind of slow, lingering meal you want to share with your favorite people.

That’s the whole energy of Georgia Grace: warm, scratch-made, and easy to love. It also makes a perfect anchor for a whole day out, and I actually made them the lunch stop in my perfect day in Old Ellicott City if you want to turn it into a full outing.

The Vibe and Experience

The cafe’s cozy and charming, right in the heart of historic Main Street. You order at the counter and they bring the food out, there are no reservations, and there’s a quieter upstairs plus a little stone patio if the weather’s nice. It can get busy with a single register during peak times, so give yourself a little breathing room on weekends. If you’re building a whole brunch crawl of it, JAM Eateries is another one of my favorite Ellicott City breakfast spots nearby.

Is Georgia Grace Cafe Worth A Trip?

Yes, a hundred times over. Georgia Grace is one of my favorite cafes in Ellicott City, and honestly I’ve loved everything I’ve ordered here (that warm blueberry coffee cake especially). It’s easygoing and genuinely welcoming, which is exactly what you want in a neighborhood cafe. If you love a cozy coffee-and-a-treat kind of morning, Cafe June and its famous croffle is another Ellicott City spot worth adding to the list.
