Alright friends, for those of you looking for dim sum in Baltimore City, a spot *finally* opened up. It’s a Peter Chang restaurant, and the food’s fire. I seriously wished they opened back when I lived in the city – I would’ve gone SO often.
ANYWHO, no joke when I say everything was really delicious. I’m a sucker for dumplings, and they did ’em so well. Highly recommend getting the crystal shrimp, crab & pork soup, and pork shumai.

Their har gow was possibly the best I’ve ever had. The filling was succulent and juicy, and I loved how chewy the exterior was. 10/10. The soup dumplings were phenomenal as well – def gave Bob’s Shanghai a run for their money. I know those are fighting words, but I said what I said, lol. And lastly, their shumai. Again, the filling was just so fantastic, and there was a nice amount of tobiko on top, which I loved.
Other standout savories included their dry fried cauliflower, limoncello crispy jumbo shrimp, and cumin lamb skewer. The cauliflower’s cooked so beautifully, and it’s a must if you like spicy. The shrimp was also fantastic, and this may have been my favorite dish of the bunch? The sauce was so good, and I really enjoyed eating this with rice. As for the lamb, the flavors were spot on, but I wish the meat was a bit more tender. I still liked it though!
AND NOW ONTO SWEETS! The black sesame egg yolk bao was so, SO freakin’ good. I could’ve eaten 3 orders of these by myself. This dish is a MUST for dessert. Seriously. They also have a really strong boba program here, which TBH surprised me.
I wasn’t sure how the drinks would be, but they ended up being crushable. I tried their Mango Jasmine Fruit Tea w/ fruity pop boba & Honey Grapefruit Yogurt Tea with fruity pop boba, and both were great. The fruity pop boba really MADE the drinks though so make sure to get it when you go. They were so satisfying to drink.
Each dish was awesome, and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved it all. It’s a bit more on the pricy side, but the quality’s worth it IMO, and I’m really happy that Baltimore now has a dim sum spot.
If you want the full breakdown of their weekend brunch, Nihao now runs a $32 all-you-can-eat dim sum brunch every Saturday and Sunday, and it’s a serious upgrade on the ordering format.
If you love this one and want more from the same team, the Peter Chang in Annapolis goes a step further with all-you-can-eat dim sum offered daily.
Also, you order + pay at the counter before grabbing a table! Service is quick and efficient, and they have water stations so you can serve yourself.
A big shoutout to the Peter Chang team for hosting me! Have you guys visited this restaurant yet? Let me know by leaving a comment below, Nomsters.
