Hey Nomsters! I’ve got some exciting news today. There’s a new-ish vegan restaurant in Hanover called CiSu, and I can’t wait to tell you about it. Their entire menu is vegan, and I think they’re a great addition to the area.
While you’re exploring Hanover, Rangoli is another addition worth knowing about, serving a North and South Indian buffet with plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. If you’re looking for a non-vegan Asian dinner option while you’re in the area, Luk Fu at Live Casino is worth putting on your radar for pan-Asian fare and sushi from chef Jet Tila.
SO, here’s everything I tried:
- Spicy Wontons ($6) – These were really good! The water chestnuts added a great crunch, and the spicy ginger sauce was ridiculously tasty.
- Ma Po Tofu ($15) – While this was a good dish, it wasn’t my favorite by far. The flavor was a bit too sweet for my taste, but the vegan meat was well-cooked, and the tofu was perfect. They have a lot of different tofu options available so I want to try something different next time. Maybe their salt & pepper tofu?
- Hot & Crispy Eggplant ($15) – This dish was AMAZING! The eggplant was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, and the sauce was absolutely delicious. I would 200% get this again!
- Soy Tiger Boba with Crystal Jelly ($5 + .60 topping) – Unfortunately, they were out of boba when we visited, but it’s on our list of things to try.
- Soy Wild Mango with Mango Star ($5 + .60 topping) – The flavor was excellent, but it was a touch too sweet for my liking. They’re happy to adapt the sweetness level to your preference though, so make sure you let them know! I also enjoyed the mango stars inside – they added some nice texture to the drink.
Additional notes 📝
- There’s plenty of parking available which is always a win
- There’s free WiFi, making it the perfect spot to eat and work if you choose.
- It’s a fast-casual spot, so you order at the front (or through the QR code at your table), pick a seat, and enjoy your food in to-go containers
- They have a small corner with various vegan snacks and goodies if you’re interested
- Excellent service at the front, and the staff was genuinely interested in our feedback
