If you’re looking for a festive spot to celebrate the season, run, don’t walk, to Christmas on Carroll, the holiday pop-up at True Standard Distilling in Frederick, Maryland. I’m so excited to be partnering with their team to spread the word because after experiencing it in person, it’s easy to see why this place is blowing up online.
I legit walked in and said “wowwwwwww.” No exaggeration. The decor is on point, the vibe is cozy and spirited without being cheesy, and the cocktails? Cute, creative, and way too easy to drink. Their glassware alone deserves its own fan club – I’m obsessed with the fun mugs and themed cups they use for their drinks.
What to Drink at Christmas on Carroll
If you go (and you should), here are the drinks you need to try:
- Zombie – bold, tropical, and super fun
- Painkiller – a classic tiki-style sipper with holiday cheer
- Mac-Nut Chi Chi – macadamia nut goodness in cocktail form
Can’t decide? Do what I did and grab their cocktail flight – you get five mini cocktails for just $21, which is honestly an incredible deal. Plus, it’s perfect for the ‘gram because the presentation is so dang cute.
Why True Standard Distilling Is Worth the Trip
Aside from being home to one of the cutest holiday pop-ups in the DMV area, True Standard Distilling is known for their incredible rums and vodka. They make everything completely in-house, fermenting, distilling, and bottling every batch under one roof. That level of craftsmanship is rare, and it definitely shows in the quality of their cocktails.
Good to Know Before You Go
Before you check out Christmas on Carroll, here are a few helpful things to keep in mind: you can usually find street parking around the distillery, and they have a full lineup of holiday events happening throughout the season, so definitely check their website for the schedule. The pop-up runs through January 11th, and if you’re a tiki drink lover, this spot will be right up your alley.
