Cheesesteak & Co. Owings Mills: One of the Best Cheesesteaks in Baltimore County

September 6, 2026

You guys already know I’m a HUGE fan of Cheesesteak & Co., so when my friends over at Cheesesteak and Co. told me they’d opened a second location, I had to run right over. This one’s in Owings Mills, their first spot in Baltimore County, and if you love a proper ribeye cheesesteak, it’s very good news.

I fell for this brand back at their original Elkridge shop, and the Owings Mills location brings that same cult-favorite menu closer to a whole new crowd. On this visit I went in on the bacon cheesesteak with grilled onions and hot peppers, their mozzarella half moons, and the egg rolls, and that buffalo chicken egg roll? So good. If you’re anywhere near Red Run Blvd and you take your cheesesteaks seriously, Nomsters, this needs to be your next stop!

What Makes Cheesesteak & Co. A Must Visit

So what makes this place worth the hype? It comes down to how obsessive they are about the details. Their cheesesteaks are built on 100% real ribeye (no mystery meat here), piled onto real Amoroso rolls shipped in from Philly, with that signature Cooper Sharp white American cheese melted through.

That’s the combo that earned them a genuinely cult-like following around Baltimore, and now Baltimore County gets its own spot. Founder Phil Gharfeh actually wanted to open in Owings Mills first, so this location’s a bit of a full-circle moment for the brand. It sits in the Red Run Station shopping center right off I-795, which makes it an easy grab whether you’re local or just passing through.

What to Order at Cheesesteak & Co.

Here’s everything I got this time, plus a few things you shouldn’t sleep on.

Bacon Cheesesteak (small, $15.99)

I got this one loaded with grilled onions and hot peppers. You’re getting their real-ribeye base with crispy bacon layered in, and you can pile on whatever toppings you like to make it yours. The small is a real meal on its own, so come hungry. If you want to keep it classic, their Original Cheesesteak is the one that first made me a fan over in Elkridge.

Buffalo Chicken Egg Roll ($5.99 each)

Do not, and I mean do NOT, skip the egg rolls. I tried both the cheesesteak and the buffalo chicken versions, and the buffalo chicken one was so scrumptious, it’s the one I especially loved. They come with a dipping sauce on the side, and trust me, you’ll want to order extra. At $5.99 a pop, they’re a no-brainer add-on!

Mozzarella Half Moons (4 for $8.99)

I grabbed an order of these too. You get four per order, a fun spin on the classic mozzarella stick, and an easy one to split with the table.

And here’s what else is on the board so you can plan your next order:

  • Cheesesteaks galore: the Original ($11.99 small), plus Cheez Whiz, Pizza, Shrimp, and The Stinger, along with chicken versions like the Buffalo Chicken and Chicken Bacon Ranch. There’s even a Fake Steak made with Impossible meat if you want to keep it plant-based.
  • Smashburgers on Martin’s potato buns, from a single ($7.99) up to a triple, with their house company sauce.
  • Wings by the 6, 12, or 18 piece in a big lineup of sauces, from Buffalo to Old Bay.
  • Loaded fries and tots (get them cheesesteak or buffalo chicken style), plus sides like fried pickles and onion rings.
  • Save room for dessert: they do a Smith Island cake and cereal-flavored cheesecakes like Fruit Pebbles.

The Vibe and Experience

This is the same beloved menu that built their reputation, just with a Baltimore County address now. I first fell hard for this brand at their original Elkridge location, where the Original Cheesesteak was a straight 10/10 for me, so getting a second spot closer to more of you is a genuine win. The Elkridge shop is the OG (it opened back in 2024), and Owings Mills is the expansion the founder had wanted from day one. Whether you’ve been making the Howard County trip for years or you’re brand new to the ribeye gospel, this location delivers the same goods.

Full disclosure, the team invited me in to try the menu, and I’m so grateful for the invite (thanks again, guys). The Owings Mills spot is a carryout-focused shop tucked into the Red Run Station center, so it’s more of a grab-and-go than a settle-in-for-hours situation. It’s a great spot to grab a proper lunch or dinner without a lot of fuss. Parking’s free and easy in the shopping center lot, which is always a plus. If you’re making a whole afternoon of it around Owings Mills, save room and grab something sweet after at Fresh Bakery down the road.
