Hey Nomsters! It’s been a while since my last visit to Carlson’s Annapolis, and let me tell you, I *almost* forgot just how incredible their restaurant is. Expect to enjoy some of the BEST Thai food you’ve ever had, no cap.
Treating myself to a solo dinner, I decided to go all out and indulge in a feast. I may have ordered a bit too much – my server legit though I was feeding a group of three instead of just myself, hahahahaha. ANYWHO, Here’s a rundown of everything I got:
- Drunken Noodles ($14.29): Ah, the drunken noodles. How I missed this deliciousness. I got it with beef, and it was so, SO good. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and it came with lots of different veggies. This definitely has heat though so consider yourself warned.
- Gaeng Key Wan ($15.79): Green curry lovers, rejoice! This dish hits all the right spots. I enjoyed every bite of this, and it was packed with generous portions of eggplant, peppers, basil leaves and chicken (or a protein of your choice).
- Kratim Pik Thai ($14.99): In search of something new, I decided to give this dish a try, and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. Stir-fried chicken with ground black pepper and garlic in a light brown sauce—simple yet bursting with flavor. The spiciness of the black pepper added that extra kick I never know I needed!
If you’re like me and love your food to pack a punch, you’re in for a treat. The dishes at Carlson’s tend to err on the hotter side of the spectrum. But don’t worry, if fiery flavors aren’t your thing, simply request a milder version to suit your taste buds.
If you’re willing to make the drive south, Thai Inter in California, MD is another Thai spot worth knowing about, a small St. Mary’s County gem cooking everything fresh to order with panang curry and crispy duck.
While I wouldn’t necessarily say that Carlson’s has the *best* ambiance, their standout service more than makes up for it. The friendly staff ensures that your dining experience is a memorable one. Plus, it’s impeccably clean here!
Oh, and let’s not forget about their donuts! They’re known for ’em so make sure you stop by in the morning to indulge sometime. I highllllly recommend their Boston cream donut + apple fritter. Just be aware that their bakery and kitchen hours differ, so check out their website for more info!
