What’s up, Nomsters! A while back, I asked you guys about your favorite spots, and you all delivered. @katiestower hooked me up with an absolute gem – Capri Pizza & Sub Express. And let me tell you, I AM SHOOKETH!
This family-owned joint in Glen Burnie has been dishing out deliciousness since 1990 – that’s 33 years in business!!!! Here’s a breakdown of everything we devoured:
Glen Burnie has a lot of spots with that kind of staying power, and Ann’s Dari Creme is another one worth knowing about, open since 1950 and still drawing lines for soft serve and foot-long hot dogs. —
For a classic sit-down breakfast any time of day or night, Honey Bee Diner on Ritchie Highway is another Glen Burnie staple worth adding to your list.
The Best Steak and Cheese in Maryland?!?
Their Phili Steak and Cheese ($12.25) is an absolute must try. Think juicy steak topped with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and hots all in a housemade roll. PheNOMenal. Seriously one of the best subs I’ve ever had so run, don’t walk.
Their Grilled Chicken Caesar ($12.25) was also life changing, and I’m not a salad person. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, and the homemade caesar dressing was ridiculously tasty. Plus, they hook you up with a big piece of their freshly baked bread so that’s a plus. 10/10 for real.
And lastly, we got their Neapolitan Pepp 14” ($15.75) to share. The dough? perfection. The pepperoni? On point! It’s pure perfection, and you won’t be able to stop at just one slice.
Now, onto some additional tidbits:
- Dinner was absolute fire, but if I had to nitpick, the fries were just “meh.” Not a deal-breaker though because everything else was so good.
- The vibe inside Capri Pizza & Sub Express is v fast casual, with about 6 tables for seating. But honestly, this place is perfect for takeout, so you can chow down on their delectable creations wherever you please.
- There’s plenty of parking available so no circling the block for hours, lol!
- And pro-tip: Swing by on Sundays and Mondays for an amazing deal – a one-topping 16″ pizza for just $13.99 or a one-topping 18″ pizza for $14.99.
