Soooo I may or may not have a new obsession, and it goes by the name of Cafe EZ 2, lol. It’s a breakfast and brunch spot in Elkridge, and it’s officially become one of my go-to places. This is the second location of Cafe EZ (the original’s over in Ellicott City), and they’re famous for their sweet and savory crepes, but their breakfast plates hold their own too.
I rolled through with my friend Minje to work our way across the menu, and let me tell you, we did NOT come to play! The short version before I get into it: the Cinnamon Roll French Toast is a straight-up 10/10, the crepes live up to the hype, and this is exactly the kind of easy, budget-friendly brunch spot I want in my back pocket. Here’s everything we got into.

What Makes Cafe EZ 2 a Standout Brunch Spot in Elkridge
Here’s the thing that hooked me: Cafe EZ 2 does breakfast AND crepes, and they’re actually known for the crepes, so you’re not stuck choosing between a cozy egg plate and something a little more fun. It’s the second location of Cafe EZ, and this Elkridge outpost is the roomier one, with more tables than the original in Ellicott City, so it’s a solid pick when you’ve got a group. It’s also a women-owned spot, which I always love to see. The menu’s wide (breakfast plates, sweet and savory crepes, rice bowls, burgers, sandwiches) and the prices stay easy on the wallet, which is exactly why it earned a permanent slot in my brunch rotation.
What to Order at Cafe EZ 2
Minje and I went a little overboard, in the best way. Here’s what we got to share, and what I’d tell you to build your order around.
Cinnamon Roll French Toast ($13)
This was SO BOMB. We were technically supposed to split it, but I ate the majority of it and I’m only a little sorry, lol (sorry, Minje!). I give it a perfect 10/10, and that’s not something I hand out lightly. If you want to make a whole meal of it, you can turn it into a platter for an extra $7, which adds eggs, meat, and home fries or grits on the side. If you order one thing here, make it this.

Havana Crepe ($15)
If you’re craving something hearty and packed with flavor, the Havana Crepe is where it’s at. It’s stuffed with chicken, chorizo, cheese, and egg, then smothered in sour cream, avocado, salsa, and chipotle sauce, so it’s every bit as hearty and flavorful as it sounds. Since crepes are their whole thing, I’d say grab at least one for the table even if you’re mostly there for breakfast, so everyone gets a taste. They do a big lineup of sweet and savory ones, so it’s an easy way to sample what they’re about.
Santa-Fe Omelet ($14)
The Santa-Fe Omelet was perfectly sized and packed with all kinds of yum fillings (think corn, black bean, cheddar, avocado, peppers, and a little chipotle situation). It comes with home fries and toast, but you can swap in salad or grits if that’s more your speed. It’s a comforting, no-fuss plate if you want to keep things classic while everyone else is going wild on crepes.
A few other things on the menu worth knowing about if you’re planning a return trip (I know I am):
- More savory crepes like the Baltimore crab cake crepe ($16) and a shrimp and avocado crepe ($15)
- Sweet crepes in the $10 range, including a berries-and-custard one, a Nutella-and-strawberry one, banana foster, and s’mores
- Rice bowls, burgers, and sandwiches for anyone who isn’t in a breakfast mood
- A gluten-free crepe option for a small upcharge
The Vibe and Experience
It’s a casual, comfy brunch spot, the kind of place you can roll into with a friend and camp out for a bit. Fair warning, though: Cafe EZ 2 can get pretty busy, so try to arrive early if you can. Don’t stress too much, the wait’s usually manageable, and even with a packed house we only waited around 10 to 15 minutes. It’s a great fit for a low-key catch-up, a family breakfast, or a lazy weekend brunch, and there’s outdoor seating when the weather’s nice. If you love a good crepe, another creperie I’m into is Cafe Columbia over in Columbia, so keep that one on your list too.
And FYI, Cafe EZ 2 is the second location of Cafe EZ, run by the same folks, with the original sitting over in Ellicott City. This Elkridge spot is the newer, bigger one, so if you’ve been to the OG and loved it, you already know the vibe, you just get a little more elbow room here. And if this is your first Cafe EZ, honestly, either location’s a great intro to their crepes. The menu leans on the same sweet-and-savory crepe lineup plus the breakfast and brunch plates.

Would I Go Back to Cafe EZ 2?
YES, this one’s officially a regular in my weekend brunch lineup. Between the 10/10 Cinnamon Roll French Toast, the loaded Havana Crepe, and prices that don’t wreck your wallet, it’s an easy yes for anyone in the Elkridge and Ellicott City area hunting for a solid breakfast. It’s a hidden gem that’s great for groups, families, or a lazy weekend with a friend. If you want a fun, budget-friendly brunch, put Cafe EZ 2 on your list.
If you’re making a day of it in HoCo, Luna Coffee Bar in Old Ellicott City is a cozy cafe on Main Street with a matcha menu and local cookies that makes a great afternoon stop after brunch.
Have any of you had the pleasure of visiting this gem yet? Let me know what you’d order in the comments, Nomsters, and if you’re hunting for more Elkridge eats, my other neighborhood pick is the El Sopon food truck. Save this one and send it to your brunch crew!
