After receiving numerous recommendations from you lovely folks, I finally made my way to Buck Murphy’s. As many of you know, I had an incredible experience at their sister establishment, Hideaway Odenton, so my expectations were HIGH. Here’s a rundown of what we got:
If you want the full story on that spot, I wrote up The Hideaway Odenton covering the smoked wings, brisket rolls, and the whole comfort food lineup.
- Wings ($13): These wings are not your average wings. They are smoked over pecan wood for a glorious 3 hours before being flash fried to perfection. We got ’em with Blackberry Chipotle sauce, and man, that sauce is next level.
- Jalapeño Brisket Rolls (2 for $12): These rolls are not to be missed. Picture this: perfectly fried rolls stuffed to the brim with smoked brisket, chipotle peppers, queso, and caramelized onions. The result? Pure bliss in each bite. I wish they were a bit spicier, but the flavor combination was outstanding otherwise. I also gotta shout out their sweet jalapeño dipping sauce because that was ah-maaaaa-zing.
- Chicken Parmesan ($14): Our server recommended that we try this in quesadilla form, and we happily obliged. The result? Melty, cheesy goodness that satisfied all our comfort food cravings. The choice to pair it with fries was a winner—the thin and crispy fries were crave-worthy to say the least. Pro tip: Request extra blackberry chipotle sauce and dip those fries in it.
Additional notes:
- The food at Buck Murphy’s was beyond delicious, and I’m already planning my return to explore more of their enticing menu. BUT it’s a dive bar, not a traditional restaurant.
- Our server was fantastic, and the atmosphere was lively – people were singing along, playing darts, and having a great time.
- Kitchen hours close at 10pm, so keep that in mind when planning your visit.
- They apparently also have karaoke and trivia – not sure when though so you guys will have to call and ask =)
