This Might Be the Best Shrimp Salad Sandwich in Maryland 🦐
Every now and then, you stumble on a sandwich so good it makes you stop mid-bite. For me, that was the shrimp salad sandwich from Caffe Di Roma in Catonsville. Honestly, it may be one of the best shrimp salad sandwiches I’ve ever had – if not the best.
The Shrimp Salad Sandwich
For $16.25, this handheld is worth every penny. It’s massive – stuffed with shrimp that’s perfectly seasoned and balanced, all tucked between bread that holds up to the filling. It also comes with chips and a pickle on the side, which makes it a full-on meal. If you’re a shrimp salad fan, this is 11/10 recommend.

Soup on the Side 🍲
I couldn’t resist ordering a cup of their cream of crab soup ($6.25), because what’s a sandwich without soup, right? And wow – this was fantastic. Rich, creamy, and loaded with flavor. They had several other homemade soup options too, which means I’ll definitely be back to try them all. YUM!

What Else to Know
- Breakfast is served until 11 AM (their blueberry pancakes are calling my name for next time).
- Casual spot with a few tables inside and patio seating.
- Street parking is available, so it’s easy to swing by for takeout.
If you haven’t been to Caffe Di Roma yet, run – don’t walk. Between the shrimp salad sandwich and the cream of crab soup, this spot is a low-key gem in Catonsville that deserves all the love. I will 100% be back to try more of their menu.
While you’re in the area, The Artful Flea is another Catonsville gem worth knowing about, a vintage multi-vendor marketplace tucked into a converted house with over 40 vendors selling antiques, collectibles, and one-of-a-kind finds. And if you’re on a Catonsville sandwich kick, 5th & Steaks is a food truck right in the area doing some of the best Philly cheesesteaks in Baltimore County.
