You guys seem to really be enjoying these roundups, so here’s another one for you! I’ve been spending a lot of time in Catonsville lately, so it felt only right to give it some love. And as always, these lists are unranked, so don’t @ me, Nomsters. ALSO, this is not an exhaustive guide to every single place I like in the area – just ten of my personal favorites that I think are absolutely worth a visit.
1. 5th & Steaks
A bomb food truck slinging awesome cheesesteaks and loaded fries. My personal fave is the Pepper Jawn – it’s messy in the best way and totally worth the extra napkins. ALSO, they just started offering cheesesteak egg rolls which is super exciting. I definitely need to go try ’em ASAP.

2. Saigon Blvd Banh Mi
These are my favorite banh mis in Maryland, full stop. The bread’s got that perfect crunch and the fillings are super flavorful. On top of that, they have amazing drinks so do yourself a favor and get the Vietnamese salted latte. It’s a must. NOTE: if you go between 12–3 PM, you can get any drink + any banh mi for just $13.50 (!!!!)

3. Chopin Noodle House
If you love handpulled noodles, this place needs to be on your list. The texture is fantastic and the dishes are super satisfying. I especially recommend the oil spill noodles or the beef noodle soup – both are slurp-worthy and comforting. PERFECT for this uber cold weather!

4. Grace’s Thai Kitchen
A delightful Thai food truck serving all the staples at a great price. It’s casual, delicious, and super dependable when you’re craving Thai comfort food. My favorite is the pad thai, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything you get here.

5. Caffe di Roma
I cannot get over how good their shrimp salad is, lol. It’s one of those things you try once and then keep thinking about. A cozy spot that’s perfect for a chill meal, coffee, or a quick bite between errands. Their chicken salad is bomb, too!!! You can thank me later.

6. Grilled Cheese & Co.
If you’re a grilled cheese lover, this is your heaven. They do allll the grilled cheese sandwiches, from classic to fun combos, and the handhelds are seriously outstanding. Make sure you get a cup of their tomato soup – it’s one of the best I’ve ever had.

7. Taneytown Deli
A lovely little deli serving solid sandwiches at good prices. It’s the kind of spot you hit up when you just want something straightforward, tasty, and satisfying without any fuss.

8. Pioneer Pit Beef
Some of the BEST pit beef in Maryland lives right here. The meat is smoky, tender, and ridiculously good, especially piled high on a sandwich. If you’re into pit beef and haven’t been yet, consider this your sign. Trust.

9. Pho Saigon
This was my favorite pho spot for a long time. I used to go all the time back when I was a college student at Peabody. It’s a great, reliable spot with tasty noodz and cozy vibes. Perfect for cold days, sick days, or honestly any day, lol.

10. Beseto
A Korean food court with tons of delicious options. I especially love their naengmyun, but everything I’ve tried has been pretty solid. There’s also a downstairs floor with different Korean and Asian goods, which makes it extra fun to explore.
