Top 3 Best Hand Pulled Noodles in Maryland

November 30, 2024

If you’re a noodle stan like me, you’re gonna want to bookmark this post! We have so many amazing options here, but these are the BEST hand pulled noodles in Maryland IMO.

1. Chopin Noodle House

This place is so legit! They’ve been on my list for quite some time, and I wasn’t sure if they’d meet my very high expectations. Welp, they absolutely did. I visited their spot in Catonsville (they also have a location in Gaithersburg) and got their A2 Traditional Beef Noodle Soup and their B2 Oil Spill Noodles.

All their noodz are made fresh in house, and you get to choose from 6 different sizes (extra thin, regular, flat, thick, wide and extra wide). Flat’s probably my favorite but that’s obviously personal preference so get whatever your heart desires, Nomsters.

NOTE: this is a fast casual spot so you order at the counter & wait for their team to bring your food to your table. Service is quick and friendly, and there are to go containers conveniently located at the front.

📍5514 Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville
⏰11-8pm Th-Tu, closed Wednesdays

2. Chin Xi’an

You’d never think to come here for noodles, but trust me when I say they’re worth a visit. Located inside BenGong’s Tea in Ellicott City, this place is unassuming to say the least. Their 3 in 1 hand ripped noodles are worth the trip alone, and I can pretty much guarantee you’ll love whatever you get.

This bowl had all kinds of nom goodness – think egg/tomato, some pork zha jiang sauce, & bok choy. Mix all that magic together well for the perfect bite! Just make sure you’re a fan of heat because they don’t mess around with their chili oil.

PS. they offer seasonal specials, and they’re also known for their “Chinese burgers.” OH, and try their housemade Chinese Osmanthus Sour Plum Drink while you’re there. It was my first time trying Suan Mei Tang, and I genuinely loved it! It’s apparently a medicinal drink? Tasty and has health benefits? Count me in, lol.

Other fun tidbits: they give you a white rabbit candy with your check, and their to-go bags are really nice. I like to reuse bags so I found this to be impressive, lol. I know, I know. I’m a nerd.

3. Peter Chang Gaithersburg

Chef Peter Chang is a legend in the DMV area, and his new spot in Gaithersburg is his first official “Chinese Tapas Restaurant.” And yes, they also have a dim sum section on their menu so the tapas are in regards to his larger specialty dishes. They do small plates at more affordable prices so people can try more noms when they go!

I could go on and on about his food, but we’ll save that for another day and focus on his hand pulled noodles for today. I want to bring attention to two different dishes: Mama’s Handmade Noodles with Chili Oil (SO good, especially if you like heat) and their Shanghai Beef Noodle Soup (perfect for cold weather like this). Both of these are must tries so make sure you get there ASAP. Everything’s made to order, and there’s just something so special about the texture. 10/10 recommend, Nomsters!

📍637 Frederick Rd, Gaithersburg, MD
⏰Su-Th 11-9pm, Fr & Sa 11-10pm

Have you guys tried all 3 spots? Would love to hear *your* thoughts about the BEST hand pulled noodles in Maryland. And if you don’t see your go-to place listed, please comment below so I can check them out. Until next time – happy eating, Nomsters!
