Today’s post is gonna be a good one because we’re talkin’ DUMPLINGS! Here are 5 of the best dumplings in Maryland (according to me, lol). Let’s get to it:
1️⃣ Bob’s Shanghai Soup Dumplings (Rockville)
Bob’s Shanghai is soup dumpling paradise. My favorites are their pork & crab + pork, but there are 3 other flavors available as well. Pro tip: Bring cash for a discount and arrive early on weekends to beat the crowds because they get BUSY. Don’t forget to grab some frozen dumplings to enjoy at home!
2️⃣ A & J Restaurant (Rockville)
Indulge in the pan-fried pork dumplings at A & J Restaurant, a Northern-style dim sum haven that never disappoints. And while you’re there, make sure you get a bowl of their spicy beef noodle soup (with their housemade noodz) as well.
3️⃣ Peter Chang (Baltimore)
I’m SO glad there’s finally a dim sum spot in Baltimore! Head over to Peter Chang’s and make sure you get their Har Gow aka crystal shrimp dumplings. With a chewy exterior and juicy filling, these dumplings are seriously a must. While on the pricier side, the quality of the dishes is well worth it. Plus, they’re the only dim sum spot in the city! Otherwise you’d have to make the drive out to Ellicott City or Rockville.
Or head into DC, where Chang Chang near Dupont Circle serves a $38 unlimited weekend dim sum brunch from Chef Peter Chang’s team.
You can also head down to Annapolis, where Peter Chang serves all-you-can-eat dim sum daily if you want to load up on dumplings without holding back.
4️⃣ Momo Hub (Clarksville)
Craving spice? Look no further than Momo Hub for their chicken chili momo, a Nepalese dumpling dish that packs a SERIOUS punch. Generous portions and a fiery kick make this spot a must-visit for spice enthusiasts. It’s located in the Common Kitchen so there are other food stalls to choose from as well if you want variety!
5️⃣ ChiKo (Bethesda)
You really can’t go wrong with any of the dumplings at ChiKo, but their pork & kimchi potstickers are a fave for sure. Dive into a plate of these savory delights during their dumpling happy hour from 3-6pm for a treat that’s both delicious AND budget-friendly. You’re welcome in advance.
