A Guide to the BEST Desserts in Baltimore

May 14, 2024

If you love sweets as much as I do, you’re gonna want to save this post. I’m super excited to highlight 10 of the BEST dessert spots in Baltimore. Whether you’re in the mood for bubble waffles or incredible gelato, this (unranked) list has got you covered! SO let’s get to it, Nomsters.

1. Wafflelicious

Located in Little Italy, this decadent dessert spot’s known for their amazing bubble waffles. I recommend building your own for $10.50. That includes a waffle base of your choice with fillings, ice cream (Taharka Brothers!!!!) and 3 toppings! I think it’s really cool that they mix fillings INTO their waffles. I like to get their original with milk chocolate chip filling, Oreo ice cream, Nutella, sprinkles, pocky and whipped cream. YUM!

📍245 Albemarle Street, Baltimore
⏰M-Th: 3-9PM, Fr 3-10PM, Sa 1-10PM, Su 1-9PM

2. Cafe Dear Leon

There’s a reason why Cafe Dear Leon has such a great rep. They’ve been open for years, and there’s *still* a line for their drops. All of their noms are baked FRESH in-house each day, and once they’re sold out, they’re done for the day.

Make sure to check their schedule to stay in the know because different items are available at different times. You honestly can’t go wrong with anything you get so go wild & get one of everything. Andddddd I know this isn’t a dessert, but make sure you get their Crab & Egg Sandwich at some point. You can thank me after.

📍2929 O’donnell St., Baltimore
⏰6-6p, W-Sa, 6-3pm Su

3. Taharka Brothers

Probably my favorite ice cream in Baltimore, lol. It’s tough to choose because we have so many great options, BUT their honey graham ice cream could cheer me up on the worst of days. They have several locations in Charm City, and they offer a slew of classic flavors in addition to the more inventive options (think Mintflix & Chillz, Key Lime Pie, and Caramel Crunch).

📍Various locations

4. Pitango Gelato

Ok so, I’m listing Pitango Gelato but their pastries are also incredible as well (their bakery’s located a block or so away in Fells). You NEED to get their cruffin because it’s pretty much life changing. ANYWHO, gelato. They offer authentic Italian gelato made with organic milk from grass-fed cows + sorbet from fresh fruit. They only use the best ingredients & churn each flavor on site! Must try flavors include their Banana, Fondente, Hazelnut, Pistachio, and Black Sesame.

For the full picture on that Fells Point location, my Pitango Bakery + Cafe review covers the cruffins, the “Red” sandwich on tomato focaccia, in-house Italian breads, and that harbor-view seating. —

📍802 S Broadway, Baltimore
⏰M-Th 12-10pm, Fr&Sa 11am-11pm, Su 11am-10pm

5. Buns & Roses

This must visit dessert spot specializes in chimney cakes aka Hungarian donuts. They’re soft and chewy on the inside + crisp on the outside. She makes hers fresh in house daily & they’re VEGAN! Their jumbo cakes are my go-to (try getting it with Nutella + Oreo), but they all have kinds of instagram-worthy creations available. 10/10 recommend, Nomsters.

📍803 Light Street, Baltimore
⏰W 1-8pm, Th 11-8pm, F & Sa 11-9pm, Su 11-8pm

6. Dulceology

For amazing cronuts & other yum Latin American desserts, hit up Dulceology. They usually have various rotating flavors, BUT they sell out often so get there earlier rather than later if you can. Their cronuts are realllly good, but I personally like their filled brioche donuts even more. If you can, make sure to get their chocolate one. It’s easily one of the best donuts I’ve ever had.

📍1138 S. Charles St. Baltimore
⏰W-Fr: 10AM-4pm, Sa& Su 9:30-2pm

7. Berries by Quicha

chocolate covered strawberries

This local shop is known for their stunning chocolate covered strawberries. And yes, they taste as good as they look. The owner is a true artist, and her creations are almost too beautiful to eat… but they’re so yum you devour them anyway =P They have all kinds of flavors available, and they do an amazing job with custom orders as well! Highly recommend for an everyday treat or a special occasion.

📍922 Light St, Baltimore
⏰T-Sa 11-6pm

8. Codetta Bake Shop

If you’re in the mood for cheesecake, Codetta is the way to go. They offer 3 different sizes (6-in, 9-in, and 10-in), and they have alllll kinds of flavors available. You can’t go wrong with any of their signature options, but they also do caramel apple, eggnog, pineapple upside-down, sweet potato, and SO much more. They’re also known for their cupcakes so definitely make sure to give ’em a try.

📍809 Light St, Baltimore
⏰Sa-Su 2-6pm

9. Tia’s Italian Ice

Craving Philly style water ice? Go. To. Tia’s. Located in Hampden, they offer 20+ flavors, and their treats are vegan, gluten free & nut free. I like getting rainbow (it’s just so pretty, lol), but you can’t go wrong with anything you get. ALSO, they do savory + gelato, soft serve and hand dipped ice cream in addition to ice.

For a Filipino take on shaved ice, Bmore Mochichi is serving halo-halo in Baltimore and it deserves a spot on this list too.

📍851 W 36th St, Baltimore
⏰M 1-8pm, T-Fr 1-9pm, Sa 12-10pm, Su 12-8pm

10. Amour d’La Crepe

This Parisian inspired creperie is new-ish to Fell’s Point, and they have some of the best crepes I’ve had in Baltimore! Their Cinnamon Toast Crunch with Nutella was phenomenal, and the Berry Delicious was a tasty option as well. They also offer smoothies + savory toasts & their interior’s super aesthetic.

📍626 S Broadway, Baltimore
⏰M-Th 9am-8pm, Fr & Sa 9am-11pm, Su 9am-5pm

SO, how many of these spots have you tried? Do you agree that these are the BEST desserts in Baltimore? Let me know by leaving a comment below, Nomsters! And make sure you tell me about your favorite places as well because I’m always looking to try new eats.
