Top 5 Best Bites from March

April 2, 2024

I may or may not have forgotten to do one for February, lol. ANYWHO, March was a delicious month, and I’m pumped to highlight some of my favorite bites from the last few weeks. SO, let’s get to it!

1. Eggholic’s Hum-Tum

I reallllly loved the food here, and I had a tough time deciding between this and their chole (yum chickpea dish). I ultimately went with the egg gravy because I thought it was the more “exciting” option! They make this with all kinds of goodies (green garlic, tomato, cheese, etc), and the process actually takes a good amount of time.

I would’ve never known had I not gotten a BTS look at them in action. I actually might share a video of them making it because I thought it was that interesting, lol. ANYWHO, it’s super flavorful, and there are a ton of layers to this dish. Enjoy it with roti – it’s the perfect vehicle for this deliciousness.

2. Zeppelin’s Tuna Flight (from their Omakase)

Zeppelin’s a client of mine so you may think I’m biased, but I promise I’m not. I recently got to try their omakase and LOVED the experience. You get 8 courses for $125pp, and they give you SO much food so it ends up being pretty affordable IMO. I loved each and every bite, but the tuna flight was probably my favorite part. Highly recommend going if you’re looking to treat yourself. And make sure you get their painkiller as well (aka one of my favorite frozen cocktails in the DMV).

3. Pho Wheels’ Roti Tacos with Pork Belly

This was my first time enjoying their food, and I’m honestly mad at myself for waiting so long. All of their food was fantastic, but their roti tacos were phenomenal. They’re easily some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. The texture of everything was so good – the crunch from the pickled veggies, the crispy magic of the roti, and the juiciness from the pork belly? Truly memorable. 11/10 Nomsters. Get some.

4. Mo’s Stuffed Mushrooms

Mo’s is known for their fresh seafood and ginormous – and I mean GINORMOUS – portions, lol. One of my favorite dishes to get there is their stuffed mushrooms. It comes with a ton of crab, and it’s always so satisfying. Definitely make sure to try it as a starter or entree the next time you go! And let me know if you enjoy it.

5. Food Market’s Cheesesteak Sub

The food at Food Market SLAPS! If you’re looking for a good lunch spot in HoCo, I highly recommend paying them a visit. There’s so much to enjoy, but they do a great cheesesteak, and it’s only $16 for a hearty sub and a generous helping of crinkle fries. They make this epic handheld with fried onions, cherry pepper, mayo, salt, pepper and of course, cheese whiz. Perfection.
