Update: this spot has permanently closed, so it is no longer open to visit. I am keeping the review up for posterity.
Nomstersssss! I’m really excited to tell you about Bangkok Kitchen today. If you’re looking for amazing Thai food in Odenton, you gotta make the trip. Honestly, I’ve driven by this spot so many times. Don’t ask me why, but I decided to just stop in one day, and I’m so glad I did because the food was standout. I decided to get takeout this time, but I definitely plan to come back to dine in ASAP.
If you’re exploring Thai food in this part of Anne Arundel County, Luk Fu at Live! Casino Maryland in Hanover is a completely different vibe, a full sit-down pan-Asian experience by Chef Jet Tila, pad Thai included.
Bangkok’s Kitchen’s interior has a low-key and homey atmosphere, which I personally loved. What caught my eye the most was the dope Thai decor that adorned the walls. The unassuming exterior may not grab your attention at first, but trust me when I say that those are often the best kinds of places.
Anywho, here’s everything I got this time around:
- Exotic Lemongrass Chicken ($15.30): fragrant chicken stir-fried in their house sauce with lemongrass, carrots, onions, and more. Tasty but not the highlight of the evening!
- Pad Thai Chicken ($15.30): my mom requested this because it’s her go to Thai dish, and I ended up realllly enjoying it. It had a unique flavor to it IMO! I asked for everything to be mild, as my mom doesn’t like spicy food, but it still had a kick to it, lol. The food here runs spicy so order accordingly, Nomsters. Also, they seem to be VERY generous with fish sauce. Personally, I LOVE fish sauce so I was all about that life, but it’s a very pungent flavor so I wanted to give you guys a heads up in case it’s not your jam.
- Spicy Eggplant ($11.80): this dish stole the show for me. The eggplant was cooked perfectly with a wonderful texture, and the dish was exceptionally flavorful. As mentioned, it was supposed to be mild, but it was still pretty spicy!
Additional Notes:
- Bangkok Kitchen offers an extensive selection of proteins to choose from, including squid, duck, pork belly, salmon, and more (pricing varies depending on what you get).
- They offer a variety of vegetarian dishes as well so there’s lots to choose from.
- They offer a range of spiciness options, from “no spicy” to “Thai Spicy.” The mild level already had quite a kick, so I’m excited to try out their Thai Spicy in the future. I have a feeling it will be hot AF, lol.
- The restaurant has parking available in the back, making it convenient for visitors. I actually didn’t know at the time so I ended up parking a few blocks down.
- Don’t forget to grab one of the delicious complimentary candies from the bar when you finish your meal.
- If you love chili powder and want to add some extra spice to your takeout, Bangkok Kitchen won’t charge you extra.
