Ok SO, these are some of the best pupusas I’ve had in the DMV, no cap. Run, don’t walk, to Aru Aru at the Fell’s Point Farmers Market. They’re popping up with fresh-griddled, stuffed-to-the-edges pupusas that hit all the comfort notes – plus a super refreshing drink to hydrate you during your market stroll.
Since you’re already heading to Fells Point, make it a full afternoon and swing by Affogatto, Baltimore’s only cat cafe, serving specialty lattes in a room full of adoptable rescue cats. If you’re staying into the evening, Southpaw Baltimore is a cozy cocktail bar right in Fells Point, perfect for a date night cap with craft drinks and burgers on the menu.
They’re currently running 3 flavors, and every single one slaps:
Birria ($12.99) – tender beef + melty cheese with salsa verde, fresh cilantro, and onions. Big flavor bomb and my personal fave.
Crab ($14.99) – a Charm City twist with fresh crab, creamy Baltimore-style dip, and honey sriracha slaw. Sweet heat meets seafood = always the move.
C&C ($8.99) – Sweet corn, gooey cheese, sweet pepper, and kimchi. Savory, slightly sweet, and totally satisfying. This is a veg option BTW!
Pro Tip: Grab the Birria pupusa to eat immediately, then take a C&C to go. Pair everything with the Pineapple Cantaloupe Refresher to wash it all down.
Why You’ll Love Them…
Made-to-order griddle magic for that crispy-cheesy edge and magical center.
Creative fillings (hello, crab + honey sriracha slaw and the kimchi-corn veg option).
Market-day convenience – easy to eat one-handed while browsing stalls =D
Value lineup: veg option under $10; loaded birria worth every penny.
📍 Broadway Square, Historic Fell’s Point ⏰ Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Huge thanks to their team for showing me how to make a pupusa – I think I did decent for my first time 😛 If you’re hunting the best pupusas in Baltimore, put them at the top of your list. SO, tell me – which one are you diving into first: Birria, Crab, or C&C? PS. for more nom Baltimore eats, check out my Baltimore tab!
