Update: this spot has permanently closed, so it is no longer open to visit. I am keeping the review up for posterity.

If you like AYCE, be SUPER excited about this post because there’s a new Korean BBQ spot you gotta check out. MeatUp KBBQ recently took over the old Kangnam BBQ spot, and the food’s pretty dang awesome & the owners are so nice.
Weekday lunch is $19.99pp, and dinner + weekend is $29.99. Kids under 5 eat free, and kids 5-12 get half off! The ramen bar menu can be added for an additional $5 but your entire table has to match.
TBH, I highly recommend spending the extra $ because their ramen’s actually pheNOMenal (haha see what I did there). I tried their Tonkotsu Black and thought it was easily one of the best bowls I’ve had in the area. They also have chicken + veggie broths available!
In addition to AYCE proteins (they have everything from baby octopus to beef tongue), there’s a salad bar, buffet bar and sauce bar that’s included. Note: some proteins are *only* available for dinner – you can see their menu on their Instagram!
Their drink game is very strong as well! They have tons of different soju flavors available, and their party cocktails are super insta-worthy. The pina colada comes in a pineapple, and their watermelon soju comes in a watermelon with big pieces of fruit inside.

I also really like their yogurt soju – the presentation’s super fun (the container lights up and changes colors), and I’m just a sucker for yogurt soju. It’s something I LOVED back in my college days so it’s nostalgic for me, lol. Have you guys tried it? It just tastes like yogurt (the popular Korean drink).
NOTE: They’ll be redoing the ENTIRE interior down the line, and they’re partnering up with the legendary chef Peter Chang to open another concept inside MeatUp which is super cool. Definitely can’t wait to see how everything will transform later this year, and I’m curious to try the smaller dim sum style plates chef Chang will be offering.

A big thanks to the MeatUp Korean BBQ team for hosting us! Definitely can’t wait to go back for round 2.
